Oh dear thought the warm sunny weather was all over
However it did cloud over about 5pm but at lunchtime it was seriously like a summer's day - not right for March! Forecast for weekend is warm and sunny so hope it is so for you beanie and amber.
Mr SA has done something to TV and there is sound but no picture so maybe time to go to bed! Hopefully this doesn't mean the expense of new TV!!
Still planning to go on holiday end of April and just looking tonight purely for future reference and we could get a villa in Lanzarote for £350 each including flights. Was so tempted to book but just daren't. Need to wait until a couple of weeks before we go. If I booked it now every time he complained of headache I would panic. I just remind myself this time last year it was all starting to kick off.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Hello SA just catching up
I hope the tv is ok, maybe just a loose scart lead/hdmi lead? Ours does it all the time and i've learnt not to go into a blind panic before checking the leads now
Hope yours is nothing serious xx

Hi SA!
Haven't been around for a couple of weeks, but just wanted to say well done with everything! Really hope your TV is OK. My laptop's on the way out and I know what you mean about dreading the cost of a new TV. Why does it always feel like 2 steps forward, 1 step back with money, and why do these things always happen when we least need them?! That's life I guess though, and I guess after what you have been through with Mr SA, it must put things into perspective.
Really hope you get to go on your holiday. You both so deserve it! £350 for a villa including flights sounds really reasonable. Is it a week you're planning to go for? Can understand you not booking it yet - let's hope you have a nice, quiet uneventful rest of March and April so you can get on that plane!0 -
Hi Sun.A, :hello:Sun_Addict wrote: »Mr SA has done something to TV and there is sound but no picture so maybe time to go to bed! Hopefully this doesn't mean the expense of new TV!!
Ooops - but hard to believe MrSA could actually break the telly by changing something on the settings? Can DD sort it out (sounds like the kind of thing someone a generation younger might be able to get their head round)? Or a neighbour's nerdy teenage son, perhaps?Sun_Addict wrote: »Still planning to go on holiday end of April and just looking tonight purely for future reference and we could get a villa in Lanzarote for £350 each including flights. Wow, that's a great price for two return flights and a private villa! :T
Of course it won't be so cheap two weeks before departure..
Did you manage to find an insurance provider? If so, I'd start up the insurance and book - it would be so good for you both to know the countdown to your trip has begun.
Of course you worry every time MrSA gets a headache, or is wobblier than usual - but being realistic, that won't change for quite a while (five years post-op?).
Sorry, if that sounds harsh. But it's reality; the sooner you learn to squash those panicky thoughts and live for now, the more opportunities you'll have to enjoy life with MrSA, and the more he'll enjoy however much time he has been given by getting through the past year's gruelling treatment.
Re insurance: I keep seeing adverts on obscure TV channels for a travel insurance company who specialise in covering people with serious or multiple health problems. The sample quote they give for an annual policy sounds very reasonable - should I write down the name next time it appears, and pm you?

Fantastic advice as always from Robin.

Yes please Robin let me know the name if you see it again. I've looked at Money Supermarket and there are quite a few insurers who cover cancer. It seems to depend on how much excess you are prepared to pay. TV was fine when switched back on although I think it might be on it's last legs. We've already had it repaired once but I wouldn't have it done again as you can get some cheap TVs now. And I am the "techie" one in our family unfortunately- my kids get me to sort out their computers!
We've had a lovely day in the glorious sunshine again today. Can't believe I was in my shorts again in March!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
It was lovely and sunny here too but extremely windy which made it feel colder than it was. Fab for drying clothes on the line though!

Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Back at work today but only until 2pm then going home as social worker is coming to review Mr SA's care package. We are hoping to reduce his care to, say, 10 hours a week over 3 days which will give him a couple of days free to himself but he'll still have someone to take him to appointments and take him out walking with the dog.
As I'll be getting home early I'm planning to run on treadmill for 3 miles and start the week as I mean to go on with the Fly Lady-ing. Yet again no weight loss this week. I would like to lose 6lbs by the time we go on holiday so need to knuckle down to it so I am aiming to lose 1½lb a week over the next 4 weeks. As long as I track what I'm eating I should do it. Might as well make use of the WW online I got for minus 5p!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
