I'm about to activate my Barclays tax beating ISA that they gave me an access code for about 3 weeks ago. I don't know whether to suspend or close my exisiting Coventry mini cash ISA, though. There's not a lot left in it (I needed emergency funds about a month ago), but I'm trying to get all of my finances in one place instead of having a current account here and a savings account there. Anyway, the Barclays interest rate is 6.3% while the Coventry is 5%. I think I may as well just draw out the remaining funds, close the Coventry and deposit them into the Barclays account.
Spendaholic - if you mean to move your ISA funds from Coventry to Barclays don't close one account and open another - I'm sure I've read somewhere that the correct way to do it is to transfer from one to the other - something to do with the tax situation and yearly allowable savings levels I think....don't know exactly the ins and outs of it but it might be best do a bit of reasearch in case you lose outPeople Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

taurusgb - thanks for the response and yes, you're right. But because this ISA at Barclays is so attractive, they're not accepting transfers in. I don't see the point in keeping 2 open though, even if one is suspended, which you can also apparently do.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0

Evening everyone!
I have had a couple of days off tacked onto the bank holiday and had a nice rest. All ready to go back to work tomorrow and Fri - then it's the weekend again!
I did very little today (not like me), had a lovely long lie in reading a book from the library with 3 dogs curled up snoring away. Then a nice soak in the bath, put some washing on, did some cross stitch and pootled away on here. Tea was pick n mix - my way of using stuff up that don't have enough for a complete meal. OH was happy - garlic chicken and roasties, his fave and dogs were happy - hearts, liver and blended cucumber and apples. I feed them barf, bones and raw food.
I am currently looking for a cheap small freezer so that I can put the dogs' food in it - hubby is fed up of opening freezer to find tripe in there!! NO luck so far but will be patient.
Off to watch corrie - bye all.
xxIf you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Just checking in to say :hello:.
Nothing exciting happening here. I've been in work today, after yesterday's course. The children seemed pleased to see me, but that was before we started practising lining up - something that they can't seem to do quickly. I've promised to keep them in at break time tomorrow for 5 mins if they still can't remember how to do it!I'm hoping that they suddenly remember that they CAN line up quickly.
I've received an invitation to a hen party, but I'm really worried now. The person organising it is SO organised and has provided a spreadsheet for everyone showing costs. That's fine, but it's just alot of money - most of which I don't have! It should be nice though. I've been asked to provide some afternoon cakes, so I've been scouring through my recipe books and will look at the OS recipe collection later. What a tragedy!
We've also received an invitation for a wedding the day before our 1st wedding anniversary. Luckily, this will be a tad more moneysaving. My parents are acting as the hotel and my mum is acting as the taxi driver.Other than that, I need to find a clever present......... Hmmm........ First things first, I need to write a nice reply!
Right, better go for now.

Hi
Hope everyone is well, have been catching up on cleaning so house is looking great, still upstairs to do:D
Have had a set two with hubby tonight, started off great, settled down to watch funny film, hubby was in process of taking a curry out of microwave, what he wanted! as he was doing this, lost his grip and it fell all over floor!
I got blamed for this, as he said kitchen was a mess, wasnt, i never tidy up, i dont do anything etc, starts telling me im stupid and useless, so left the room only for him to follow me and throw juice at me, which has now gone over carpet, toys and me etc, he then has a go about my agrophobia and says i am just being soft! i knew he didnt understand but this has really hurt me.
He has now gone upstairs, feel a bit shaken up, need to calm down:mad:
On the up side sold off some stuff on ebay and bought some fuschia crocs to wear:j hope they fit!
ds1 at dr tomorrow as his eyes have been stinging a lot.
Also made bread, hm pizza for tea, went tesco/asda shopping and got some bits.
Havent managed to read thread yet, so hugs to all

Kyle - ((HUGS)) i agree with Churchmouse, he was prob not thinking - we know what you do, and its a LOT more than he would ever know!!!
Vicky - keep meaning to say, i think of you everytime i hear about Leicester rugby on the tv at the moment!!!!0 -
Kyle - hope things get better for you. YOU know it's not your fault - he was angry at himself and that's why he shouted at you and had a go about your agoraphobia - he was just looking for the most hurtful thing he could say. WE understand - you can be sure of that. (((hugs))).KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
