breakfast is muesli ( i dont like the shop bought versions so i make my own with 4 different types of nuts and 6 different types of berries! i even throw in some goji berries and they are apparently the new powerfood:cool: lol)
Ok, I admit to having to google them :ohttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/5315202.stm I shall keep an eye out when I'm shopping :T

mrs mix - That's great news that you've got your 1st choice of Junior School :T :T :T Enjoy your hair cut :D

Pen Pen - wow, that school have offered your daughter a reward you have to pay £27 for!! That was nice of them to think of spending your money  Similar happened to my d12yo last year, in the end the whole trip was cancelled due to lack of take up by the parents.

charlies mum - you really made me chuckle - bet you won't be making that mistake again in a hurry :rotfl:

AMIE - if they send it anyway, just return to sender. Although I'd be tempted to read the specifications again and then map out the pool in string in the garden to know for certain whether it was too big or just right.

scuzz - I'm sure your family and best friend are only worried for you, but yes, it's your life, your decision. Trust your instincts ;)

Well, the boys think it's Christmas, that egg on toast ended up being kept company by some baked beans and turkey rashers :rotfl: Well, the way I see it, you need something of substance in your tum if you're sat there pouring over exams. Except .... d12yo doesn't have his exams until June ... I've told him I'm not making a habit of mid week cooked breakfasts!!

twink - oooooh many happy returns for your ds  Bet that trifle will be like manna from heaven :D

jcr16 - oh my! That is very worrying, your poor ds!! Yes, it's awful when you see your baby in such a condition. Hope he gets better very soon! Hopefully you'll be able to grab a nap later to catch up on some much needed sleep.

    Good morning everyone.

Hugs to anyone who needs one. Good luck to all your children doing SATS.

Queenie - Chocolate pizza sounds like my type of brain food :D

Scuzz - Sending you hugs. Just keep talking to him, things are better when they are out in the open x

I had a v productive day yesterday, I posted eBay parcels, paid in cheques, almost finished sorting out the study (biiiiiiiiiiig job), transferred stuff from my old laptop to desktop so I can eBay it, made asparagus soup, made Date and Banana slices, roasted chicken for dinner, went for an hour and a half walk with a friend and her dog, dropped off asparagus as a thank you gift at a friend, stuck some fallen off tiles back on with No More Nails for selling the house (:o) phew, v productive, wonder if I can top it today!!

Today I need to... Spend a few hours doing some business stuff, do some ironing (attack the mountain :o), more eBaying, write thank you letter for the wedding we went to on Sunday, take dry cleaning in, set up scanner I discovered in study clearout. Lovely local sausages wrapped in bacon, with baked potatoes and a big salad for dinner.

Phew. Have a great day everyone :D

Morning Queenie, Kathy, Pink, Pen-Pen, Amie and all who follow:

Nice morning here so far, though the forecasters say it won't last :(

Good News from the Osteopath yesterday, original caused by an op on my foot 3 years ago, and it can be sorted. Treatment yesterday has already shown benefits to my knee, rest it seems was the last thing it needed!:confused: So hopefully when I go off to Spain on the 18th I won't look like an old woman (well you can always hope!) Only 7 more work get ups to my hols, then just another 24 work getups to becoming a "professional holidaymaker" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Birthday to Martin & Twinks DS

samsampotts, HariboJunkie, Pen-Pin, Scuzz hope you are all feeling brighter today.

jcr16 - Glad your LOs OK now, sure your DH will understand about his minimalistic lunch!

Good luck to all those with exams, Sats, Uni Finals (my DS) and those getting ready for GCSE's and A Levels. (((((hugs to all)))))). Good Luck and well done so far with the no-smoking Oops a Daisy.

dlb teachers may guide him to call in cheap rate so hope you do not miss his call.

Off out to eat tonight (forgot to get weighed yesterday morning Amie:eek:  with the girls from work as one leaves on Friday on Maternity leave.

    Have a good day

    Good Morning All

The meatloaf was yummy for last night's dinner. Thanks Queenie.

Might get some washing on again this morning, sun's shining.

DD has her annual eye test at the opticians later after school

Samsam - your doctor's surgery sound very much like mine! I do hope you get seen/sorted soon. If its just me needing an appointment - I can hold out, but before Ive been "fobbed off" when my kids have been concerned, and before now, Ive ended up ringing the NHS line. This new appointment scheme, is pants IMO. And what I find annoying is when the reception staff ask "whats the problem" - er hello! some things are private - and why should I discuss them with you!
Thankyou for the flapjack recipe - I made some last night using my old recipe, but looking at yours, Im wandering if I could alter the ingredients slightly, as to what I have in my cupboard.
i.e just use marg instead of butter. I only use vitalite! And use syrup instead of honey. Do you think there would be much difference?

Amie - great price ref the swimming pools. I paid mine £50 last yr for my 10ft one. and that was 1/2 price also. I would like the chemical kit etc, to go with it. Just to help reduce the amount of times it has to be cleaned. They are pretty expensive. So if you can find a good deal on those - I will love you forever!

Loumac - sending you lots of luck for your charity walk. Im unable to sponsor you at present due to various financial commitments, Im sponsoring my Auntie, my Cousin & a friend who will be involved in the race for life! So again, money will be low, but I know its all for a good cause!

Mrs-mix - do you make your bread by hand?

    Welcome - catman without wings!

DLB - Hows DS in Malta?

Anniestar - My DS has his sats next week. He seems relaxed about them. Thankyou for your kind words yesterday. Very much appreciated.

Pink I never look back on the day we got a cat flap - however, ours is only a basic one, and woke up one morning, only to find dlb's cat sitting in my kitchen window sill!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Martin have a great day!

Righ, Im off for a shower, then I will catch up again, with everyone's news.
    Bye for now
    Love Emma xxx

    Morning All

    Happy Birthday Martin

jr16 - hope lo fully recovers asap

tiredmum - I do that! Though it has to be very hot before I get in there. The pool and the trampoline were worth every penny

Just finished a coffee - need another one straight away as for some reason am cream crackered - dont know why was in bed by 10 and up at 6.30. Oh well at least its the middle of the week.

Taking DS to school in a min in the car as need to take puppy to the vets straight after as he has got his final check up. From there will go to the farm shop to stock up on fruit. Need to go to Asda though dont think I will have time so will have to pop down the local shop.

Once home will spend an hour or two in my office then the rest of the day ironing. Think will be chilli and basmati rice for tea. Also need to look up on the indexed collections how to clean a stainless steel hob - I know about baby oil but it has already got a dirty mark on that wont shift & I cant use anything abrasive as it will scratch.

Hope you all have a great day. Isnt so cold here in Essex but is overcast. That reminds me - need to get some washing best get off.

Hi all, I've not posted on here in ages (although I do still pop in and read the thread from time to time)

Happy birthday Martin :bdaycake: you are exactly 1 year younger than me!

Not much planned for today - a relaxing day.
Will do a load in the WM, make some soap (new hobby) and I need to replant some of my [STRIKE]trifids[/STRIKE] veges
Not sure what else I'll do - just enjoy the day I guess

Tonight OH is taking me out for dinner to a posh Chinese resturant

Weather wise it's overcast here, but not raining - I wish we had more rain, it has been so dry (although we did have loads on Monday). The garden was so dry - it could do with another dose of rain!
Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate! :)
