    Morning everyone!!

Queenie Looking forward to hearing the results of your choc pizza trial
PenPin £27! That's a bit of a cheek really, as it's very difficult for you to say "no". Can't you offer your DD £20 cash not to go? She gets £20l, you save £7.
    jcr How's little one now?
mrs_mix hope you got your DS to help clean up the mess. I found that if I cleaned up after the kids mistakes they just made them again. When they had to deal with the consequences, they seemed to learn from it.
Donny Good news, and what a relief!
    <<<<OldMcD>>> Feel better soon.
NightOwl Hope you get the payment sorted out. Your bank will be able to trace it.
<<Pink>>Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Well, had a bit of a trauma yesterday, which I'll share as it's quite funny.

Our new, enormous, ceiling fan arrived yesterday. DH spent ages fitting it in the bedroom, it's going directly above the bed. All through the drilling and fitting, our darling ginger cat (who is an absolute softie) was asleep on the bed.

A couple of hours later, I went upstairs and we were playing with the fan. Low speed, high speed, playing with the light. Cat was still asleep directly underneath it.

Then, while the fan was rotating slowly at low speed, the cat woke up. His eyes opened, he rolled on his back, and...he saw the fan. What happened next was like something out of a cartoon.

He leapt in the air, he tried to run while still in the air, hit the bed, ricocheted off, scrabled along the wooden floor, turned the corner and ran down the stairs. He stopped at the bottom, and he was ENORMOUS. His fur was all up, his tail was like a foxes brush.

We coaxed him up the stairs, but he wouldn't come in the bedroom.

    So far, so funny.

About an hour later, I came back from the gym, DH was out, and the cat was trying to go up the stairs but was too scared. I then did the most STUPID thing I could have done. I picked him up and carried him into the bedroom.

He went bananas. The poor boy managed to shred, yes shred, our duvet cover, my arm, my tee shirt, and then he peed on me in his panic. He ran downstairs and (fortunately) hid under the table.

He's still talking to me, and he purrs when I stroke or brush him, but so far he won't set foot on the stairs. Obviously we've decided to leave him to sort himself out. Poor boy.

OS wise, up early this morning, DW emptied, chicken out of freezer for dinner, and have continued work dismantling the concretery. Have run out of large trugs now for the soil, so will be going to the Tip shortly. Need DH to come with me, as the soil spoil disposal thingummy is too high up for me to lift the trugs. Well, so I say. I can do the hardcore disposal while we are there.

I also excavated a bike frame! I'm expecting to find a body under there next. Last year when I was digging a bed I discovered a cache of buried syringes and glass bottle things, and we speculated then what they could have been used for.

Dinner tonight will be chicken in some sort of sauce, with cous cous for a change.

After yesterday's sterling cleaning job on the bathrooms, today's housekeeping will be a swish and swipe of the kitchen. May return to the concretery when we get back from the Tip, if it has stopped raining.

Have a good day everyone, will pop back and catch up when I stop for coffee.

    Hazel xxx

Happy Birthday to Martin, TKP and Twink's ds. :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Good luck to all the Little Os'ers sitting exams.
rchddap, It's great to hear that Lilly is thriving and ready to move into a cot.
dannahaz, I know I shouldn't laugh but your post cheered me up!

So much for my early morning meaning I had a good start to the day! I could cry....well actually I have done already!

In an attempt to get ahead I cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom and still no one else was up so I thought I'd stick another loaf in the breadmaker to put in the freezer. I'd measured everything out and was just putting the flour etc away when I knocked a bottle of vinegar out of the cupboard. In an attempt to catch it I knocked over the bread pan! A gloopy mix of flour, oil, water, sugar and onion seeds everywhere! On the unit, on the floor and running down the cupboards and the fridge!

All my good work undone! I've only just managed to get it sorted out. :(

    Today can only get better!

    morning everyone

jamiedodger and queenie I have seen Goji berries in my local supermarkets but they are horrendously expensive. The effects would have to be instantaneous for me to even consider spending such a large amount on a small pack of berries. How much did you pay JD?

i bought them in holland and barrett, you can get them in julian graves too, i think the are about a couple of pounds but its not a very big bag, however i make up a HUGE tub of muesli probably at least a months worth of breakfasts and when you break down the cost it is actually cheaper than the stuff you can buy in the supermarkets plus i know whats in it:)

Queenie - I love that idea lol

Well, this is my first full day "back" and already it's cost me an extra £5.49. I just ordered the OS book from Play.com. Duh. Mind you, I would normally have gone to Amazon and paid for express delivery, so I suppose I've saved there.

At work at the moment so not much of an OS day for me so far, although I did have a heavy baking weekend after giving up looking for pre-packed organic cake and keeping my fingers crossed there might be some organic bread left at Tesco (there wasn't, so I made my own).

I'm fascinated by the "new" (i.e. as in it wasn't here last time I was) flylady week, so I might think about that for next week.

Morning all, haven't yet had time to read the thread will do after a very strong coffee. Was up before 5am after a sleepless night. Had to take a book into DH's school(a VERY long distance)had been to school, ASDA and Sorting office berore 8:45!! Things still as they were, DH had a dreadful day yesterday he said it was the worst he has ever felt. Back to dr's tomorrow. I noticed that it is Martins birthday today, over in DFW there is a really lovely poster(snaggles) who has today given birth to a little girl(Natasha) what a good omen for her. Again many thanks for everything, it means such a lot to me. My thoughts are still with all the SATS gang (the biggies suffering this week and the not so biggies for next week) HUGS to all SATS "suffering" grown ups as well! The papers are really marked with concern and care if thats any consolation. Hope you all have a great day, am off to read last nights and todays threads after a VERY strong coffee. Take care.

Hi again! Can’t believe how many have posted on here this so far this morning!
JRC – hope your LO is feeling much better – what a worry for you. (((hugs)))to her.
CHARLIE’S MUM – fancy finding out you didn’t have to work after you’d got there!
TWINK – scary when the oldest reaches 35, isn’t it? As most of the time I feel in my thirties, it’s a reminder that I’m not! Thanks for the lavender tip – will do it again tonight. I worked out that I had about six hours sleep – IN ONE GO – which is unheard of for me! Happy Birthday to DS1. My DS1 is 36 in September – OMG! And I couldn’t forget it even if I tried because he was born on my birthday! My best ever birthday present, as you can imagine! Well – it was once the stitches had healed!
QUEENIE – I’ve been trying the goji berries for a couple of weeks now and, if it wasn’t for the chronic lack of sleep throughout that time, I might have been able to tell you how powerful they are. As it is, I still don’t know. I mix just a small amount with my morning cereal – apparently, you don’t need many, so the bag I paid £3.99 for has lasted me two weeks. I put some in puddings as well but only a few at a time.
JET77 – wow – he sounds gorgeous! Are you seeing him again?
DONNY-GAL – so glad that your problem can be sorted! That’s brilliant news.
CRAZYCHIK – you can use Golden Syrup in flapjacks as well!
    TKP – Happy Birthday!
OLDMCDONALD – hope you are feeling better
MRS MIX - I loathe putting in zips – I think it’s one of the worst sewing jobs. Bet you’re glad it’s done!
DANNAHAZ – I couldn’t help laughing about your poor cat. Reminds me when when we had to take our now-deceased ginger cat to the vet. He wouldn’t go in the cat transporter we had borrowed so we tried to put him in a big cardboard box and he shredded his way, snarling and spitting, out of that – with four of us trying to get him in. Then he sat on the stairs panting; I’ve never seen a cat panting so he was obviously really distressed. In the end, I drove to the vets and DS2 put the cat on his lap and he was as good as gold. I was really upset that we hadn’t tried that first. He always travelled really well by car even when we moved house from one county to another.
PINK-WINGED – a word of advice now you’ve cleared up that mess. Don’t ever drop a full tin of Bird’s Custard Powder from a great height, so that it bangs on the worktop and sprinkles everywhere and then, when it gets wet just seems to increase in size and mess! Just thought I’d warn you! Oh, and if you can help it, don’t do it when you have guests who are waiting for their pudding! I am still traumatised and that was about two years ago!
ANNIESTAR – perhaps DH’s worst day yesterday will be the worst he ever feels and I hope it marks a turning point. Thinking of you and hope things start to improve for you both. (((hugs)))
Well, Chicken Casserole in the SC – smells divine; left over Rhubarb and Plum Crumble for pudding tonight. Going to put the BM ready for some bread. Have a load of paperwork to do – where does it come from? It’s almost every day – well, it IS every day. The temptation just to put it all in the bin and change my name by deedpoll is enormous. I could just leave my clothes in a pile on the beach and re-invent myself. I’m going to have a think about what sort of person I could become. Richer would be nice!
Weather is gloomy and we’ve had some rain – don’t mind really because the garden is desperate and it makes me stay indoors and get on with other things.
Anyway, this post has turned into my usual epic so I’d better go and get on with something! Will call in later.

Well hello everyone who is at home - you lucky souls. And hugs to everyone at work and who needs them. Lunchtime and I'm bored already. This new manager is really beginning to annoy me (and everyone else). I may have told you all that I have 10 days carried forward from the last holiday year as I was off. Soooo, I said I would have them in June as I didn't want to be off again on holiday as soon as I come back. Got to take them sooner  well, going to get them in at the end of May/start of June. Not feeling so good today - everyone says I look shattered - didn't even make it half-way through Midsommer Murders last night and the results of my recent blood tests show a raised sugar level so I've go to have it done again. Mind you, didn't tell the woman but although I fasted from 10pm I stuffed my face with chocolate all day - perhaps that helped  Now that I have been back at work two days I've realised that I really don't want to be here and would rather be at home - unfortunately the bank wouldn't like that. I hope Mr Rage gets this job. Has anyone tried cosmic ordering? I might give it a go as well as my chanting but obviously although it worked for noel edmonds I don't want a beard and a loud shirt :rotfl: Right, packed lunch today then spanish chicken for dinner and a long bath and a rest as well. Ta Ta.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
