Rage_in_Eden wrote: »I hope Mr Rage gets this job. Has anyone tried cosmic ordering?
Hi Rage - Well I tried it, dont know if I did it right - I jotted down some things in a notepad? Not sure if you are supposed to keep asking regularly? not sure?
BUT one of the things I put down was the job I currently have. I turned it down at first and then regretted it, thinking id lost the boat. Anyway I put it down in the notepad. A couple of months later the guy phoned me up and asked if i was still interested? and I ended up working here after all!! (although at the moment im having a rough patch, before that my job was fine)
others i put are:
wanting more friends (lost my single going out friends when i got married:o )
a bigger house (we have really outgrown our present one!!)
get slimmer, fitter and healthier
these haven't materialised......yet! So maybe I need to get the pad out and do some re-ordering!:o0 -
Hello everybody,
Busy to-day, the Aussies arrive in the morning so that is a 2-3 hour trip to the airport...looking forward to seeing them, lots of talking to be done so don't want to have to do much of anything else, have DGS2 unexpectedly today so he will be a great help...intend to put him and DGS1 (when he arrives from school) to work with leather wipes on sofa in living room, will keep them busy while I do other things.
Happy Birthday to MSE Martin and all others celebrating to-day;
Hugs to all in need of one;
Cool and windy here, very little rain...the Aussies will die of the cold, its around 30c in Brisbane at the moment I understand!
Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon everybody :hello:
Happy birthday to MSE Martin, TKP and twink's DS :bdaycake:
I quite probably won't be on here for a while after today, possibly not until next Tuesday - because my home computer is seriously unwell :rolleyes:Still I hope I won't miss it much as I am out of the office tomorrow and Fri for visit to Paris :j :j :j and in an off site meeting all day Monday. And if I don't have internet access all weekend, I know my flat will be spotless by Monday
Luckily I managed to get it to function for just about long enough to rescue my budget spreadsheet (without which I would be lost) and the report I was working on for the community project. I emailed them both to myself at work for safe keeping. Then the darn thing crashed again  still at least the important things are safe!
I am going to a Eurovision Song Contest party on Saturday evening at my ex's - he's an IT technician so I will take it to him for an attempt at diagnosis before I let Dell charge me a fortune for repair/shell out on a new one  I bought it through him in the first place, and he did all the setup on it.
Still I am working my way through my list from yesterday:
- [strike]Work (today) - finish internal monthly report[/strike]Done, [strike]finish client letter[/strike]Done, [strike]complete last week's timesheet[/strike]Done, [strike]send set of documents to client as requested[/strike]Done. [strike]Submit a booking for annual leave[/strike]Done.
- [strike]Buy some Euros from the post office[/strike] Done
- [strike]Cancel or reschedule mystery shopping job (just haven't got time... hope I can reschedule as it's potentially a lucrative one) [/strike]Done
- [strike]Do weekly clicks on Pigsback[/strike] Done - 4 CTs + quiz = 50 points
- [strike]Go to concert (tonight)[/strike]Done - was fab
- [strike]Book for a show next month (can be done on way to tonight's concert)[/strike]Done, admittedly online after I got home!
- Get some passport pics done so I can apply for my Proms season ticket (N.B. check that I don't already have some old ones)
- Fill in application form for Proms tickets
- Type up report for the community project Half done - dying computer didn't help!
- Work (tomorrow) - all the things I don't have time to do today
- Go shopping for a small-medium size wheelie suitcase
- Receive Tesco wine delivery (Wednesday evening 20:00-22:00)
- Plan, and shop for, my contribution to the picnic for the outward trip to Paris on Thursday
- Pack for Paris
- Do at least 2 loads of washing Half done - delicates now hanging up in bathroom
At my request, I had a formal discussion with my boss this morning about my current lack of motivation - I am really bored and morale is low in my company at the moment. I am currently looking into studying for a management qualification.
Also have done and dusted the mystery shopping job I rescheduled from yesterday. It's one with a decent fee which should help if I need a new laptop  ! Haven't heard back from Bosch about my new fridge yet either. Why does everything go wrong simultaneously?
Just had HM carrot & coriander soup for lunch, now must get back to work. My cousin is coming over this evening for a glass of wine.
Rzl xx
P.S. Oh, and I, um, spent £146 at Bravissimo   Admittedly £75 of this was on a coat, which I really needed and has been in the budget for ages, and I also really needed new basic bras, but even so...Operation Get in Shape

ryan has tonsiltus. ( however it spelt) it took 4 doc's inculding the one last night) to finally be able to see into the back of his throat. and his tonsiles have white spots on them.
it was touch and go weather we were coming home or he was being admitted. but as i live so close i was able to come home. but i have 24 direct care on children ward if i need it.
ryan has amoxoclyin for his throat and calpol for his temp. the doc said he has prob had the worst. but the medicine will clear it up.
i am so relived. of course it not nice him being ill. but it fab to know what it is and that he has the right medicine.
i have never seen him this ill and it was just a gut feeling to keep on at the doc's until i found out what it was/is.0 -
jrc16 - so glad you know what it is now and that he is on antibiotics - they should soon start their magic. You must be relieved although, as you said, it's not nice being ill but at least you know it's nothing too serious. (((hugs))) to him and to you - you must be worn out! I would always advise any mum to act on instinct with their child - only you know when something isn't right. You were right to keep on until you were satisfied!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

jrc16 ((hugs)) to Ryan, I had that a few years ago and it is horrible, lots of ice lollies and sleep while antibiotics do their magic.
Well have had an email from holiday company and they have received my payment which is a relief as haven't slept very well today worrying about it all.
Now im up I had better get a move on and do some cleaning0 -
jcr16 - glad your son's ok. I've probably suffered with tonsillitis since I was his age too.
Whoo-hoo! Today might have cost me an extra £5.49, but it also reminded me to call the council office to (a) set up a new direct debit, and (b) tell them I'm single again ... and being single again has just saved me a whopping £236.47 on my council tax! That's saving me £17 a month. :j
I'm about to activate my Barclays tax beating ISA that they gave me an access code for about 3 weeks ago. I don't know whether to suspend or close my exisiting Coventry mini cash ISA, though. There's not a lot left in it (I needed emergency funds about a month ago), but I'm trying to get all of my finances in one place instead of having a current account here and a savings account there. Anyway, the Barclays interest rate is 6.3% while the Coventry is 5%. I think I may as well just draw out the remaining funds, close the Coventry and deposit them into the Barclays account.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Don't usually post on the daily thread (often enjoy reading it though when I have time) but just wanted to offer my good wishes and deep, DEEP sympathy for anyone who has children doing SATs at the moment...been there, done that,       and remember every horrid minute of the stress.....we are currently facing GCSE's in this house and OMG I don't know how much more I can bear.......... I am the mother of a 16 year old perfectionist who is driving us all C-R-A-Z-Y
On a lighter note...does anyone else have jennie Shapter's "Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook"? I bought a copy yesterday and it is fantastic! Not just for bread recipes (though there are many lovely ones) also has some wonderful cake and tea bread recipes. Just made peanut butter teabread and had a slice whilst still warm (You don't get to be my dress size without a lot of hard work  ) It was GORGEOUS!
Right - off to have another cup of soothing tea before DD2 comes home from school and starts worrying again......................................;)People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Hi Rage nice to see you posting on OS again.
Hi also to taurusgb My DS did his maths SAT today and said that he found bits of it quite tough. Only English to go now (thank goodness) then DD takes her Yr 6 SATs next week. Good luck to DD2 with her GCSEs.
jcr so glad to hear that they have found the problem with your LO. Hopefully you will notice some strong improvement within 24-36 hours.
Happy Birthday to TKP
Nightowl hopefully you will get a better night's (should that be day's?) sleep now that you know the payment has been received.
My day of tidying files didn't turn out that way. I seemed to get one job cleared and got landed with another three in its place. At least I managed an hour and a half's overtime. :T
DS needs some pampering today - he found parts of the maths SATs quite hard going. He wasn't chuffed that he took his teacher's advice and spent lunchtime revising trigonometry to then find that not one single question came up on that subject in the afternoon exam. It's all good practice for his GCSEs though and I think he has learned some lessons here.
Need to go and do some fishing in the freezer for dinner for DS - DD is already munching her macaroni cheese and I have leftover curry for mine.
After that I need to get a head start on some ironing - my absolutely most hated job ever! xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
