Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
:hello: Gooooood Morning fellow OS’ers

Very early start this morning (unplanned – woke with a dead arm, couldn’t get comfy or back to sleep). Creeping around so as not to wake the boys
Sorry to read about your disappointing hospital visit PP. Hope you’re not in too much pain.
Course today, so need to be out early – just not *this* early! I have to stand corrected on the SATS, ds tells me they are just ‘exams’. He confidently went through yesterday’s batch and today he’s got 3 more. For those who’s children are doing SATS, best of British! I know some people can get very stressed out by exams (I’m one of them
)
Going to make a chocolate pizza this afternoon, well two really, I want to see if they will be freezable (should be, can’t think of any reason why they shouldn’t). And the other will be sliced up for lunchbox fancies. Experimenting with pizza dough, chocolate spread, chopped chocolate pieces and maybe some chopped nuts and a few sultanas (?) We’re eating a bit more salads for lunches but obviously the lads need way more calories than I do so it’ll be good for them to have something filling and chocolately to compensate.
Good luck Pooky with your healthy eating and the CD.
BR – how exciting! I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time in Paris; pity you couldn’t stay a little longer and experience more of it.
Haribo – ugh! If you have the bug that’s been going around, rest up! Hope you feel better soon
Samsam – write a letter of complaint to the Practise Manager but when you next phone for an appointment, tell them if you can’t be given an appointment you will be going to the call out Dr’s or A&E (looks bad on their stats
) Hope you find some relief very soon.
loumac – hope you get lots and lots of sponsers
I’ve just sponsored a friend of mine for the Race For Life. Good luck with your moonwalk :T
Welcome catman-without wings :hello: Congrats on your year of culinary achievements :T
:T Oh and don’t worry about the hugging thing … point Mrs Cat in our direction and she can have some too

Have a wickedly wonderful moneysaving Wednesday
 :money: PS: Happy Birthday MSE Martin! :money:

Morning Queenie! And, of course, to all who follow and those whose post sneaks in while I type this!
Well, I think it was Twink yesterday who said she swears by lavender to get to sleep so, as soon as I read that, I went upstairs and put some lavender essential oil on a tissue under my pillow, went to bed at about 11.15 and, yes, I did go more or less straight to sleep and woke up about twenty minutes ago – and that IS a good night’s sleep for me! So, lavender it is from now on! Will let everyone know if it’s consistent!
Welcome to CATMAN – WITHOUT WINGS – are you hoping to earn some by joining us? After all, we’re all such angels on here! Don’t keep your (((hugs))) to yourself – we all need them now and again. It’s good to have another of that alternative species on here!
Don’t know about your neck of the woods, QUEENIE, but the dawn chorus here is in full swing – didn’t know there were so many birds out there! Heard the first cuckoo on Tuesday – meant to post and ask if anyone had heard their’s yet.
Can’t tell what the weather is going to do today – I know the forecast wasn’t too hopeful. We didn’t have much rain yesterday but it was dull and gloomy all day. It’s come as a shock this ‘normal’ weather, after such a lovely April. Today, I’m going to make a chicken and mushroom casserole in the SC and some bread in the BM to go with it. Request to DANNA – have looked for the Piadine recipe and can’t find it anywhere – as all your recipes are foolproof and delicious, I would be grateful if you could tell me where to find it. Not right now, of course, you’re probably still in bed!
I didn’t get much chance back on the thread after yesterday afternoon – DGS7yo came round after school and thrashed me at draughts – again! Then he raided my office desk - he loves looking in there for stationery and bits and pieces – so now that needs tidying up! He loved the Weetabix Brownie he had after his dinner and asked for the recipe to take home! A mini OSer in the making, methinks! He’s also very good at making up games so might come in useful on other threads, too!
DH is leaving early for work this morning so that hopefully gives me a good long day to myself. I have loads on my ‘to-do’ list especially paperwork-wise and I can’t get things like that done when he’s at home so hopefully I’ll make some constructive progress today.
Have just looked out of the window – it has obviously rained in the night but doesn’t look too cloudy so I think I’ll make another cuppa and have a wander outside and see how the tadpoles are doing! Have a great morning, everyone, and will pop back in later!

Morning Queenie, moliere and all to follow,
An early start for me thanks to the cat wanting out. I’m seriously thinking of getting a cat flap because pulling she’s getting me up at dawn every day to let her out. She has a litter tray (which she won’t use) and if I ignore her she starts to claw at the carpet outside our bedroom door.
We didn’t end up going out last night as I had a rotten headache and knew I wouldn’t enjoy it so hopefully going tonight instead. Plans for the day include at least one trip to the dump with some old broken toys that have been clogging up the garage for a while. It’ll be sad to see the swing go…I have lovely memories of them all playing on it when they were small but at least I’ll be able to get the lawnmower out without risking life and limb.
The breadmaker’s doing the needful, I want to put the washing machine on but don’t want to waken anyone else so that gives me an excuse to sit here with a second cup of coffee and waken up slowly.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Kathy, the dawn chorus is in full swing here too now. Still very grey looking out there though. Not heard a cuckoo yet, but the herring gulls make a mighty racket! Another couple of weeks and they will have the whole neighbourhood up at 4am.
My lads make the brownies, so yes, hopefully your 7yodgs is an old styler in the making too
Pink - catflaps can be a godsend or a nightmare. If you get one that only your cat can get through, heaven; if it's one that any cat can get through ... hell!
Made all the packed lunches between bobbing in and out of threads on here, also solved dh's mobile problems (good job I was awake! How would he have made it through the night shift without me :rotfl: ).
I'm so far ahead of myself, I might even cave in and do the boys egg on toast for breakfast~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning everyone.
Been up for an hour. Never sleep very well when DH is away, but at least it's a chance to get things done withput inteference!
We have *SAT fever* here, too, Queenie and Anniebooklover. DD did science yesterday (year 9), which was fine. It's maths today, which she really doesn't like. She finishes on Friday, which is when DH is back from the States, so off out to eat.
DD came back from school yesterday with a letter - as she's done well this year (worked hard and not got into trouble) she's been offered a place on a *reward trip* to Alton Towers. Great, until I read it's going to be £27    I've asked her not to do so well next year :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The builders came yesterday, and have covered my patio in bricks and equipment. They'll be taking the roof off DS's room later in the week, so I'm disappointed to see bad weather is planned.
Taking the opportunity of DH being away to clear out the freezer, and have a series of *pot luck* suppers. We had a selection of small portions of vegetable curry yesterday. Delicious!
Scuzz - (((((hugs))))) for you. Hope it's all sorted soon.
Happy Birthday to Martin
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Still haven't properly sorted things out with bf, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. We chatted briefly yesterday and he's assured me he still wants to be with me, even though he's going away for the summer. My family are mad at me and my best friend's given me a hard time too. But they don't know him like I do. I've told them it's my life and if I make a mistake, it's my fault
Did some overtime last night to work towards having next Wednesday off in lieu. Also working on Saturday and Sunday, so I've done the hours and more, so I can still put in for some extra cash:T
This is a dumb question, but do they use pounds of punts in Northern Ireland???I need to know so I can sort some money for when I go to Belfast next Wednesday.
Had a lovely dinner of liver and bacon last night, and have everything HM with me today for food. Got a very busy day ahead, with lots on and a meeting with the new boss:eek:
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

It's not a dumb question Scuzz...lots of people get confused by it. Northern Ireland is part of the Uk so we still use sterling here. As far as I know the South of Ireland now uses euros and punts are no longer used at all.
Have a great time in Belfast, it's a lovely city.
