Oh it's late - very late! (2am almost!)

Have just got in. OH and I went for dinner with friends a good few miles away but instead of staying the night as we intended to, we came back because his 17 yr old son isn't feeling too well. I think it's just a tummy bug, but we didn't want to leave him alone all night feeling so ill.

So, have just driven back.....and logged on here. I need to unwind now before I go to bed!

Have enjoyed reading all your posts. Thank you....so much here is encouraging...and well done to all those who have lost weight!. Sorry to hear about your hypo Victory. Both my sons (now 18 and 19) were infant diabetics and my life has been all about treating hypos. My boys STILL need reminding to carry their glucose tablets (and insulin) with them wherever they go! Glad you recognised all the symptoms and were able to deal with it! My boys loved PE at school because they were able to eat chocolate before any activity!

I ate sensibly today. I am following a low GI diet, which suits me. I don't really 'diet' as such, but stick to foods and menus familiar to me...and watch my portions. At the moment, whenever I get a craving for something sweet I eat a small banana. Seems to be working!

No exercise again today though! I KNOW this is what I must do - move more - but I keep resisting.

I am going to buy a pedometer in Argos today...later on...and try to do a daily walk of 10000 steps before bedtime. Can't see myself exercising any other way really. I don't like gyms, although I joined one last year. I enjoyed swimming, but like most newly enthusiastic gym members, the novelty wore off and I had incredible guilt feelings for not going and wasting my membrship fees! (Isn't that how these fitness clubs make most of their money?)

My abdomen (big hernia) is hurting so I am going to take a couple of co-drydramol before going to bed.

Oh, Lois...if it's not too late can my name be added to the May challenge please? (If I am too late, not to worry...I'll join in next month.)

    Bed calls....night all.....sweet (oooops...perhaps not!) dreams! :D

Morning peeps:D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PETRICHOR, it is to be celebrated no?:D

I am off shopping today much to H dismay:rotfl: he hates it but he has said he will come to see what clothes suit me or rather keep an eye on how much is going to be spent today:rotfl: :rotfl: He hates it even more when I look at everything and come away with nothing:rotfl:

This afternoon it is cycling (have to work off that drifter:rotfl: :rotfl: ) and tonight I am making turkey mince burgers(oh the kids are so very excited about that they are considering inviting themselves over for dinner at their friends house, any friend will do:rotfl: :rotfl: )

My youngest has just got a banana smoothie addiction so it gets to use up my bananas, plus he loves banana cake which I make, he will be turning yellow soon:rotfl:

Have a lovely day, the sun is out(for now) crumbs it bucketed it down yesterday, what would make this a perfect day is if they found Madeleine on her 4th birthday, nothing they sell in Toys R us could ever come close to that for her parents, the mother looks so gaunt.....

    Morning all!!!!
Just a quick post as I have a housefull of visitors this weekend:eek:

Have just done the weekly weigh in and have lost 2lbs!!!!!
I think its down to changing from SW to calorie counting - the change has made me think more about what I am eating and perhaps I'm eating different things that may have been enough of a change to kick start my metabolism!!

    Off to the shops later
Just a few more lbs to go now!!

    Have a great day
    Rachel.
