Been catching up with all the posts and would love to have the time to respond directly to some of them but a very busy week and need to do some catching up with chores this evening BUT.....
Obviously the ludo and scrabble paid off- just been to the gym and with some trepidation got weighed. Been good most of the time but have had meals out and been cooked for and not really been careful then, and then there's the alcohol. Anyway, I have lost 3 1/2 pounds :j Since coming back from my hols I have found it difficult to get back on track but I think maybe I'm there. Have to see the advice from Petrichor about looking in the mirror may have had something to do with it
Anyway, so glad I seem to be back on track and feeling motivated for this coming week. Also, the gym wasn't as much of a struggle as I expected it to be after a couple of weeks absence so had a great workout - although may not be able to walk tomorrow!
Anyway, better get on with my chores and try and organise myself for the week ahead. Good start to the week as at last I feel I should be on the chart rather than lurking showing no weight loss!Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
After putting off the awful moment I joined WW a couple of weeks ago. Have had the first weigh in and lost 6lbs. I know the first week you can expect to lose more than a couple of pounds, but was really pleased with myself. I have a very long way to go though.
I have tried WW in the past, lost 3 stone, stopped going, and put it all back and more. Went to SW for a while and lost a fair bit, but didn't get on with it, and the lady running the group was not actually a good example! Last year I went to Rosemary Conley (thought I'd give them all a fair crack at the whip) and again lost 3 stone, stopped going, and have now put 2 of those 3 stone back on. Can you see the pattern emerging here?
I am going with a couple of mates, and hopefully we can encourage each other. I have paid for the WW Passport, so have paid for all my meeting until the end of August in one go. That should make me go if nothing else does, just to make sure I get my monies worth.
Good luck in the coming week to every one.
Carol
PS The WW meeting is on a Tuesday, so please could you add me to you list and I will post my loss (hopefully) on Tuesday night.0 -
Evening Peeps:hello:
Many thanks for all the lovely Anniversary wishes, they certainly lifted my spirits, you really are the loveliest bunch of folk there could be :A (more than I can say about him!! :rotfl: )....
.....Victory Your post about your sons inviting themselves to anyone elses house to escape your turkey burgers was:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks for that! Your boys sound like great kids. I love banana cake too, but since I've been slimming I've not had any as I can't trust myself to to eat any and stay at 1 slice, I'm still making it for my loved one (plus him) but I watch them and can honestly say that I begrudge them every mouthful :rotfl: .....Tulip, mineallmine, gillian0808 and welcome back katyk, I started in January and think this thread is the best support group going, and like you Gillian, I've been to classes in the past, but find that here the support is 24/7 not just for an hour, so I wish all of you 'happy slimming'....
....Well done to malima :T and rach :T and for getting size 10 clothes....
....Honey I loved your 'Have a good day chums' just that word... chums...took me back to the days when I read the Rupert Bear Annuals, (still do actually but only the rhyming story:o - can't whack the narrative even now )...and look!! here he is:rotfl: :rotfl: but look what's attacking him  it's a vicious butterfly!!! told you all before what they can be like...
....G'Night All ....

Can I ask a quick question?? I can't seem to get on to the slimming world website and I wanted to know how many sins are in the porkinson sausages. They are made by kerry foods, but i don't think they are on the website so could someone use the sins calculator for me??
per 100g they are 215 Kcals 14.7g protein 5.1g carbohydrate -sugars 1.6g
fat 15.5g saturates 5.2g fibre 0.4g and sodium 0.6g.
They come in a 6 and a 10 pack size
Thanks in advance
Hi Gpuk - according to the syns calculator they would be 6 syns per 100g on a red day.
Hope that helps.

Hi folks, sorry to report a 'stay the same' week. i think it was because i did so well last week effortlessly, and I kept saying to myself 'oh, it's OK, I did really well last week, that bit of *****won't matter'. Ho hum, I think it did! Still, hopefully this is the kick up the bum I need. Just looked at swimming timetable for the local pool and I can fit in a swim between finishing work and collecting the kids. Hopefully I'll be a bit better this week, I want to get to that 5lb challenge!

Morning all,
Well calorie counting certainly seems to be working as I've lost 4lbs (Over two weeks, remember). Unless I'm very much mistaken that 8lbs in total so yay me :j
Sorry I haven't been adding to the thread much lately, v v busy at the moment. Hope you're all well and happy.0 -
Good Morning All :hello:
Hi CAEand well done on your first weeks loss, your story shows that you are already one of us
....
...:T Edimew - 4lbs :T and thrifty - 3 1/2lbs :T or rather:rotfl: ...
...*debbie* Say after me - "A maintain is better than a gain" - so you see you don't have to be sorry :shhh: , you can't alter last week but keep the challenge firmly at the front of your mind for this week ...
......p.s. someone told me that sex is a great way to lose weight - trouble is, it gives me an appetite!
Oh really!!! Lois - I seem to remember a few weeks ago that you were blaming broken scales :rotfl: :rotfl: now we know the truth...
...I'm pleased to say that this week I have lost a further 1.4lbs :j :j this is taking me close to that dreaded last hurdle, but I'm not going to let it get to me

Morning all
Well, after a pretty disastrous day (diet wise) yesterday I am back on Day One again today! My sister invited DH and I round for Sunday dinner, which was lovely, but not really SW style, so I threw caution to the wind and tucked in, to dinner and puddingNormally my will power is strong enough to resist desserts, but I'd been having cravings for a fat and sugar overdose for a couple of days, and I just [STRIKE]couldn't[/STRIKE] didn't.
I'm definitely planning to count calories, and I think I might do it retrospectively today, and then when I get an idea of how many calories I am eating, I can plan what I'm going to have in advance.
Have a good day everyone, and good luck with your weigh ins.
See you later - I'd better get stuck in to work!
