Well done Rachel - thats you nearly there - can some kind person please explain to me how I count calories - I've got the general idea, I'm not that dozy(some would disagree) but do you look the packaging and just add up the calories per serving etc? What about things that don't have calorific content printed on them, and things like tomato sauce etc  See, I told you I was easily confused :rotfl:

Happy belated anniversary Petrichor - it is a big deal, its another year you've stuck it out :D Just kidding!! Congratulations!

Victory - happy clothes shopping, I hope the rails are full of what you are looking for!

Had a great night at the formal, head sore today and in need of some stodgy food to make me feel better. Its 3 weeks to the wedding, can I lose 7lbs in 3 weeks? Let the challenge begin (starting tomorrow cos I need toast today to soak up the double  vodkas DH kept buying me. Think he was trying to get me drunk ;)

    Have a good day chums

Hi there, I'm back again, having regained almost all of the stone I lost at the end of last year and feeling really yeugh at myself. Will only be able to pop on about once a week as computer at home has died (again) and I can only get chance to check internet once a week on a Saturday. Still, hols begin about 11 or 12 weeks and I REALLY need to get back down in size. Currently back to over 15 stone and only 5'5" tall so BAD news.
Have joined gym at work but unsure how often I can manage to go around work and kids etc. Hoping to reduce work hours soon and get back to walking to work and back every day (about 5 miles round trip so worth doing). Also trying to grow lots of own veg in rather small garden, to encourage salad/soup making. Will try to get round to reading back some of what all I have missed and seeing who all still on here.
Glad (honest!) to be back on track!

    Hello!!
What a lovely day. Started the day with a calorie busting 35 mintues competitive squash (nearly beat OH...i always do so well at first then he gets more competitive and i start slacking!!) so feeling v good about myself. had a yummy veg omelette (and allowed myself cheese on it!:o) and now i'm going to walk into town for a bit. roast dinner tonight, yum yum!!

Welcome Tulip(katie) and Welcome bk KatyK!! Good luck! Tulip i hope you find WW helpful.

    well done rachel!

Petrichor hope you had a good Wedding anniversary. :)

Victory - A drifter! glad you recognised the signs and dealt with the hypo well, shame you didnt get to taste the chocolate tho! I had half of OH's mars bar the other night..and i cant even use diabetes as an excuse :o

Katmad,The excel spreadsheet looks great, I might have to give it a try myself, if you dont mind ;) Its working the calorific values of the meals that worries me

well done passing your test :T !!

feel free to copy my spreadsheet. it's v fun because it makes it seem all 'official' lol!

I work out meals by adding up all the ingredients including added oils, gravy, etc. it takes a while but it's fun and quite satisfying to see how well (or badly!)i'm doing, and i've started putting in all the data at the start of the day (like a plan) before i've eaten it to see how much i can afford to add (i.e. if it says a total of less than 1000, then i know i can have some more extras if i want)

    i use https://www.nutracheck.co.uk
and https://www.freedieting.com food and ingredients, and https://www.freedieting.com/tools/calories_burned.htm for exercise. Perhaps these sites will help you start counting honey?

    here's today's spreadsheet example:

    12thcalsssheet.jpg

can anyone see any glaring errors?? the total seems v low for me!! i checked the exercise on the webiste. hopefully this means i can have some wine with dinner. got some lovely rose in the fridge!

If anyone else wants to copy the spreadsheet, and isn't v computer/excel literate, here's the formula i use to work out the total:

    caloriesformula.jpg
(I is the column letter at the top, and the numbers are the row numbers, if you know what i mean?)

    hope this helps.
    thanks for the feedback.
hope everyone's having a great weeked!

Have just done the weekly weigh in and have lost 2lbs!!!!!
I think its down to changing from SW to calorie counting - the change has made me think more about what I am eating and perhaps I'm eating different things that may have been enough of a change to kick start my metabolism!!

Well done Rachel - that's another brilliant result, counting calories is obviously working - I'm considering giving it a try myself. :T

Hi Beanie - the men all get dressed up in tuxedo (sp), bow tie etc and the ladies are all in ball gown type dresses! It was a charity event for childrens cancer unit so it was for a good cause.

Lois - I can't believe that you admitted publicly that you like Eurovision :rotfl:

(yeh i love it too, you're not alone Lois! Tho i like it best for making fun of the acts with Terry Wogan, and watching as we fail miserably!!)
