Had a 0.5 weight loss this morning.

I really should have lost more but when I looked back at the week I " remembered " an episode involving a box of ritz and some cheese and a bit too much wine on Saturday evening.:o

I think what has happened to me is I got a little complacent and sort of forgot that I actually do have to work on this weight loss thing - it just doesn't seem to happen on its own! :rotfl:

I also find I suffer from "food amnesia" ie. I eat something (usually something I really shouldn't have) and then promptly forget that I have eaten it!

However on a more positive note - We have a new member of the family as of last week! A beautiful 9 month old Bichon Frise little boy by the name of Charlie! I have been on plenty of walkies this week with a big huge smile on my face!!:j :j :j

    Marion
ps - going to Holland Thursday for 12 days so will miss posting my weight for next 2 Mondays - I will try to be good!;)

For all those 'episodes' you did well to lose 1/2lb :T and huge congratulations on the addition to your family. For anyone who doesn't know what a Bichon Frise looks like - txkkahk.jpgaaaah!!!! They are absolutely gorgeous dogs. The walks will do you no end of good Marion, I used to walk miles when I had two Cairns, now sadly, long gone. Have another nice holiday

xxxx - these kisses are for Charlie
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

hi everyone, quick question..what are the lowest cal sweets i can get?? i'm going to the cinema tonight and i know we'll stop at the shop first and i'm having a 'craving day' and just want sugar! (pms i reckon) What's the lesser of all the evils sweetie-wise??? a lollypop might be good as it's small and would take a long time to eat. is there anything more 'munchie' that i could get away with - less than 200 cals ideally, had a bad day yesterday (2000cals!) so want to be on my best behaviour today despite cravings.

(would you forgive me if i just went crazy and has malteasers?? i feel like there's no stopping me today)

Hello all. Thank you so much for my welcomes last week, sorry but I haven't been online since then!

You are all so motivational, I think I will try to belong to this thread rather than WW. I like the idea of using a spreadsheet. Also it will save me money :)

I think I'll start tomorrow though....just ate some comfort food as bad news at work (weak I know). Congrats on everyone else doing so well!

Back on the wagon today with a vengance! I've even been swimming, as I was puffing my way up the pool I worked out that it was the first time for 12 years:eek: that I had been swimming as an exercise, rather than spalshing around with the kids. I was a bit shocked at how rubbish I was, I managed 16 lengths in 30 minutes, needing to have a rest every 4 lengths!! BUT....I felt great when I got out, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it. I shall try to fit in at least 2 swims a week, but that kind of depends on work.

Thanks for being so motivational, this is heaps better than sitting in a freezing hall, listening to why this woman or that woman can't loose weight, despite following the rules exactly. I do get fed up with that... after all, we all know ;) what makes us not loose weight, you just need to be honest about what goes in and what exercise you take!

Just read the above, makes me sound so 'holy':o I'm just as bad at sneaking the 'odd' extra (or dozen!) in, but at least I'm honest about it when I loose or maintain!!

    Evening all,

Have just done the calorie count thoroughly for the first time EVER using katmad99's amazingly good spreadsheet (hope you don't mind:o ).

Today's indescretion of a Mars bar, coupled with my hubby's desire for pie has resulted in: 1986.3 cals!

    Dear God.

No wonder I've gained a kg

Admittedly I've weighed myself a day early, but lets be honest, is it likely I'll lose a kg overnight? :o
    Day One tomorrow then!

sa1sysoo, 'course i dont mind! :) i'm really glad my little idea has been so well received and is helping others:):)

I'm NOT glad however that i had absolutely NO restraint today and ate 4 bloody slices of toast!! I was just craving it so badly, it's disgraceful, but i'm blaming totm in part, i totally recognise this feeling for what it is.

Had a lovely low fat sweet&sour stir fry for dinner, with left over chicken from saturday's roast (fat all taken off of course), and sugar free jelly (my new addicition!!) for afters, so all is not lost.

However, i will probably get myself some chocolate for the cinema tonight, as i never have it in the house and i want to treat myself in the midst of all this calorie watching and revision stress!

Hope everyone's had a good start to the week (a better start than me anyway! lol)

Looking forward to WI on wed to see if all this spreadsheet lark has paid off!

Ooh and on the subject of the spreadsheet, i added a new feature to mine so that i can see how many calories i have 'lost' given the average reccommendation of 2000 a day for women. I take 2000 for each day - so for the whole week it would be 14000 - i do a new sheet every week, wed to tues - so i dont have to scroll around too much and can compare week to week behaviour - and then minus each day's total.
here's an example : =10000-(D26+I24+D47+I48+D74) for the 5 days this week so far. when i add today it'll be =12000-(D26+I24+D47+I48+D74+cell ref for today's total)
At the moment i've 'lost' over 2800 calories this week, would have been a lot more if today and yesterday hadnt been so rubbish, so if i'm good tomorrow hopefully i can lose a pound (3500=1lb) this week. then i can see if the numbers and the scales agree!!

Oh wow i can't half ramble on cant i!! Sorry!!!!!

Have a good week everyone!! good luck weighing in xxx:)xxx

ps- anyone watching panorama?? It's SO weird!!

Hi Katmad - Maltesers are quite low in calories, according to the adverts, less than 200 cals per pack..? Sounds like a good choice to me.

Saw an ad on TV today and the standard bag has approx 190 cals, a standard twix has approx 145 and a two-finger kit-kat 110, but by the time you read this you'll have been and done it ;) Hope you had a good time. Been ages since I last went to the cinema, do they still have the lady playing the piano :rotfl:

I agree with you totally debbie, I could never believe the barefaced cheek of some of them when I used to attend a class, they must have thought we were stupid. I stopped staying for the class and ended up going to get weighed only.
I have lost the plot with SW at the moment, and am currently trying to do the Paul MacKenna hypnotist thing.

I would love it to work, and go under very easily, so you never know!

I hypnotised myself twice yesterday, and once this morning (on the train)

I will give it a week, and weigh, and then let you know how i get on, if i fail, i will be back on SW in a jiffy!

ms...I'm quite intrigued by this, please tell us more about it, thanks

MushyPeas I'm pleased to see you here, I was quite shocked by what Ishtar said about the WW forum. Hope that you feel better in the morning and able to start day1 :j
cathchat Well done on sticking to water at the party:T Before I started here I was glugging vast quantities of wine and it was my main problem too. I decided right from the start to cut it out entirely as I knew that I wouldn't be able to stop at just 1 glass; it was hard at first but now it doesn't bother me, although I still won't have 1 just in case. I enjoy the taste of the food now, rather than it being masked by the wine, which, actually, I don't particularly like the taste of  I prefer sparkling mineral water and so does my pocket ;)

Plucked up the courage to weigh myself this morning on my mums digital scales which are in line with the SW ones. After slacking totally for about 3 weeks (at least) I was pleased that I have gained only 1lb. I am using this weight as my starting block. I am really ready to start again, back in focus and starting from today. The old Honey is back! I have 3 weeks to the first of my bridesmaid stints and fully intend to lose at least 5-7lbs by then. Watch this space :D

Welcome back Honey :D and well done for only gaining 1 pound. I bet, even though you thought you were slacking, you were probably subconsciously limiting what you ate. What's your total weight loss to date?

Thank you to everyone that made fab comments about the size 10 thing!!
Just tried them all on again to make sure that they still fit and they do!

As promised I have tried the Janice Battersby DVD and can honestly say its really good. The warm up gets you very warm and the fat burning bit is quite easy to follow (I'm very uncoordinated). The Belly Busting bit is a bit short and quite easy (was expecting it to be tougher) but its fun all the same.
The whole thing lasts about 50 mins plus about 10 mins of Janice showing you her fat photos and the first time she did a workout when she was bigger. Its a refreshing change as you don't normally get to see the "fat" before pictures and huffing and puffing! She's very likeable and does break into quite a sweat as does the instructor bloke (who is quite gorgeous - added bonus!)

Would definitely recommend it if you want a workout DVD that's not easy but not in the Nell McAndrew league!

The best DVD that I've tried in ages.

Calorie counting still going well - have just had a little choccy bar as my treat for bouncing around the living room and am just over my cal limit now but thought I deserved it!:o
