I'm joining Slimming World tonight, can anyone point me in the direction of some recipes? I've checked out the recipes on Ols Style but couldn't see any. I'm a little worried on what to cook....
Hi Mookybargirl and welcome.:hello: Here is the link to some recipes. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=180748
Lois has put loads of other useful links at the start of the thread. Hope you get on ok tonight.:D0 -
There are 11 mins to my dinner (yes I eat at 5!!) and I am very excited about that because I am starving today but I find it helps me if I have a set time to eat(have to do that for my insulin injections anyway) and when it all gets too much and hunger sets in bad as it is now I know I have only so much time to wait!!,10 mins to go now...:D
Hi mooky recipes are on the first page along with some other helpful posts, you are just gonna' love it here!! xx0 -

katmad That chart seems a good idea to me, I hope it helps you  I find that spending my time on the computer helps enormously as I forget what time it is and that a mealtime has gone but didn't feel hungry.
Hi mookybargirl andI hope your 1st SW meeting goes well tonight

Petrichor, I have that clip saved on my computer in work and everytime I get annoyed with someone I watch that, thank you for making me smile.
I'm feeling a little brighter now, I've just had one of those days, everyone has annoyed me and I've spent the best part of the day in tears. DH eventually answered his phone and announced "if you are in one of those hormonal moods then I'm glad to be at work" :rotfl:
Off out to my cake decorating class in a bit so that should relax me. I was talking to some of the mums at the school gate who all said they were in the same mood as me today - its a really thundery day - must play havoc with us Irish women's hormones
Be back later to catch up - thanks for all the hugs xx0 -

I didn't like myself much when I started dieting but i was so happy yesterday when I lost my first stone.
Thank you freebiehunter.
Well done on losing a stone! What a great milestone (oooops, a pun!) that is! That is an indication of success, isn't it? It's a sure sign you are on your way to achieveing your goal weight. It gives you a buzz and real sense of achievement
I have to keep reminding myself that every single pound lost is an achievement. It would be wonderful if one days dieting gave us an instant and noticeable weight-loss, wouldn't it?
I am feeling despondent, and see my weight-loss as a long-haul job although I realise the changes I make have to become a way of life. Once I get into it I'll feel OK. I know it's the way forward for me, and I am determined to do something about my shape and size, but yet another day has gone by where I haven't left the house, and haven't really planned meals for myself, although I have eaten sensibly. Not sure why I am stalling.
I have got to move more. I need a huge injection of motivation. That's daft really, because I KNOW how much better I feel when I have had some fresh air and gentle exercise - as in walking.
JUST DO IT! applies to me. :rolleyes:0 -
Woo!! that seems much better!!
Heh heh katmad...I preferred the big sized one...didn't have to squint!
What a good idea. I have steered clear of excel charts...although I am pretty PC proficient. I think they remind me too much of Maths...which I hated. People tell me they are easy to use....and they serve their purpose for things like listing food you've eaten.
Hope things are looking a bit better now honey.
I am off to OH's house. He is cooking (grilling) salmon for us tonight with new potatoes and frozen soya beans, which I haven't tried before, and I am going to allow myself a small glass of white wine to go with it.
Have a good evening everyone.0 -
Hi SkyBlue and thankyou (ooh it rhymes). I have also had to remind myself that every single pound lost is an achievement otherwise I don't know where i'd be. I think it took me about 3 months to lose the stone but so glad that I kept trying again every day. I promised myself that I would start some form of exercise when I reached the stone and I have done nothing yesterday or today but I will try to make myself tomorrow. The start of the diet can be the worst bit but once you have lost a few pounds it kind of makes you want to stick with it.
Gentle exercise and fresh air really really does make you feel better in yourself so try to find time to make yourself do it, how about early in the morning to start the day off on a positive note? I may even give it a go myself!

When you go to class they should give you a password to access their site which has recipes on it. I think club members get the SW magazine at a reduced price and that has recipes every month. There are also a few recipe books you can order from them, or your class leader might have some for sale.
If you invent a great SW recipe, post it and share the joy :j0 -
Honeyhun
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
