Karren Do not go for the slimming pills  I know it can seem as if you're fighting a losing battle at times but you know you'll be thankful in the end not-tagged-smiley-14571.gif. We all go through these phases when our motivation flies out the window. Look at what you're doing now and decide if you want to try another plan (a change is as good as a rest and all that!) anything but pills...

Victory I hope you're a tad brighter now not-tagged-smiley-14571.gif, but that really was a bummer of a comment from your H, if MrP said that to me he'd be speaking with a very high pitched voice :rotfl: Don't let the school gate mums get you down either, they were no doubt wondering how you could manage to look so good that early :j

    hello everyone
I've been reading these posts for a few weeks now, since signing up for Slimming World and found you all very encouraging and helpful. Your idea of breaking down weight loss to a monthly goal is great: I'm too late for the June challenge but will join you for July.
I'm finding SW a fantastic eating plan so far - I'm on medication that increases my appetite  so the pounds have piled on over the last 3 years and for the fist time eating the SW way have amazingly curbed this.
Plus I can't exercise much due to health problems and it is very encouraging to read of others in the same position.
I'm doing so well my elderly parents would love to give the SW plan a go but can't get out to a meeting - I wondered if anyone had a spare SW book they no longer need they would be happy to pass on to me? Someone mentioned a few weeks ago they did.

Victory you have my complete sympathy about the gout - I had an episode last autumn and it was unbelieveable agony.
    thanks everyone

Been working so hard in my job so many miles driven so no time to post here let alone time at home.

Really pleased to see you are all doing so well, great Suggs with the 5lb. Also congrats to Katmad with the degree - now the really hard work starts.

Been so good with my white wine challenge this week, only had 2 glasses so far this week and I might not have any tonight. Someone on here said it is like a Cream Cake in a glass so that is what I think of now. No cooked breakfast in the hotel and only two skinny latte this week too. Feel quite optimistic about it all.

Only managed Pilates once this week but I have please golf once and I am playing again Sunday.

Well done all will post the Elderflower drink in the next post.

    How dya make elderflower cordial???
I used to get it from asda but dont stock it anymore! gutted!

    Makes 2 litres
20 heads of elderflower, 1.8 kilo of sugar (I think you could use less as it is quite sweet) 1.2 litres of water, 2 unwaxed lemons 75g Citric Acid

    1. Shake the elderflowers to expel any insects and place them in a large bowl
    2. Put sugar into a pan with the water and bring to the boil stirring until sugar has dissolved
    3. While the sugar syrup is heating, pare zest of lemons off in wide strips and toss into a bowl with elderflowers. Slice lemons, discard the ends, and add slices to bowl. Pour over boiling syrup and stir in the citric acid. Cover with a cloth and leave at room tempeture for 24 hours.
    4. Next Day, strain cordial through a sieve lined with muslin (or a new J-cloth rinsed out in boiling water) and pour into thoroughly cleaned glass or plastic bottles. Screw on lids and it is ready to use.

To serve dilute with fizzy water to taste and service with ice.

I know there is a lot of sugar in it but you only need to use a tiny bit in a glass to get a nice strong taste and at least you know what is in it. I find it really nice and grown up to drink so get out there and pick your Elderflowers.

Hi Beanie - DH and I are off to stay in a cottage in Pembrokeshire. It has a swimming pool and plenty of places to go for walks, so I'm planning to have a good mix of exercise and relaxation. :)

Hello  Sorry I havent been around for a while. We have moved out of our house to accommodate the builders so the only opportunity I have to get online is at work and its soooo busy at the minute I have had to neglect you all. What a week of rain, its been non stop here, floods everywhere and what a week for our builders to take the roof off  My house now resembles Noah's arc  I am beyond myself, I've now got to the stage where I am past worrying - there is nothing that I can do to stop the rain :)

Weight wise it hasnt been good, stress makes me eat and when I am at home I dont have any treats to get stuck into. As we are living with my parents ( Its hard going) my mum has cupboards full of biscuits, buns etc and my willpower has been down this week. Fear not, last night as I was getting into my Pj's I remembered Petrichor's old trick of bending over naked in front of a full lenghth mirror  Not a pleasant sight :rotfl: As a result I have come to work armed with fruit and yogurt and will keep that image in my head as long as I can. For those struggling to get motivated I highly recommend you try this - just make sure you are alone :o

How's everyone been - there are so many pages to catch up on. Have we any news from Connie? Well done Katmad on the degree and to Victory for meeting your target :T and also Suggs for SOTW :T

I'll not be able to get back on to catch up with you all until Tuesday as my fathers internet at home has packed up (have my suspicions it may have something to do with DS/DD but can't comfirm this) and I wont be in work until then. I hope you all have a good weekend, Lois have a great break while you are away, I would offer to do the chart but as I have limited internet access I wont be able to this time.

    Take care chaps and Chapesses
    Honey x
