SkyBlue your post was very inspirational thank you very much.:smileyhea
I started dieting in Jan and have lost 10kg but after 5 weeks of the gym and still dieting i have put on 1kg. The nurse at the doctors said it is fat turning to muscle ?
I know this is what happens but i was a little upset to say the least.
I only weigh in once a month but i do read the page when i get time.
Keep up the good work everyone.xx
Hi Quillion - muscle does weigh more than fat, so the nurse may be right. Weight isn't the only way to guage whether your regime is working though, you could be losing inches - did you measure yourself before you started? If not have you noticed that your clothes are beginning to feel loser?
You're doing the right thing, so keep at it and I'm sure you'll see good results soon.

Evening all
Here we are again with another chart - it doesn't seem five minutes since I was typing this last week, the time has flown by!
Well done to everyone who has lost weight, and commiserations to the gainers and maintainers. This week's Slimmer of the Week is Suggs with an excellent 5 pound loss. :T Congratulations also to Victory and Suggs who have achieved the target for June already, and we're only half way through the month. :j
I'm away next week but I will do my best to check in regularly and update the chart (providing I can get Internet access!).
Have a good week everyone.

Lois The last I remember of thriftykatie was the week before last when she mentioned that half term was coming up (last week) and of course there was the blossoming love lifeBeard0609 Don't worry, the shock will soon pass and so will the weight
find a plan that you think will suit you and start it now!!
I'm off now to try and find that planner thingy that was mentioned yesterday, I need to organise myself, I'm all over the place.

Evening All
Just doing some listing on ebay of clothes I no longer need want and thought I would come on here for a minute. By the way Ebay is doing another cheap listing day.
I sold a load of stuff last time I really lost weight 3 years ago as I went from 16 to 14. Now I have put a stone on I can still fit into 14 but I tried on 2 suits in 16 I wanted to sell. Actually the trousers now fit me. How sad - they went straight on Ebay and my motivation is better than ever.
I agree about the wine thing, that is my downfall. I was so good last week until Friday. Had 1/2 bottle of wine at the pub and then nearly another 1/2 when we got back. All in 3 hours stupid stupid me. I want to stick to 7 glasses a week and will do my best to do it this week.
Just made lots of Eldeflower Cordial, yes lots of sugar but it is diluted with water (20 to 1 I think) so it can't be that bad. Must be better than wine. I do drink a lot of water during the day so if I can swap the wine for sparkling homemade cordial it must be better.
Thanks for having me back and good luck all for next week.
Hya Tall girl
How dya make elderflower cordial???

CON'GRADUATION' KATMAD :j  :j
... and Suggs - SOTW :T
Also well done to all losers and (hugs) for anyone who struggled this week.
What a lousy morning, weather wise, and trust it to be the day it rains for my car to break downIt was in a pretty bad spot as well. Everyone who had to queue to get round me must have been cursing along the lines of 'Stupid *** what a place to stop and take a phone call'. I know I normally would but I was speaking to the garage. Anyway, after the call, I begged my car not to leave me stranded here ... and she fired up and kept power all the way to work
There's a light on the dashboard now telling me I have a problem. I hate sorting problems out with the car!
Hope everyone else has a good day.0 -
Well done to all the newbies of their weight loss, don't it feel good eh?:j :j
Keep it up and very soon you will look like kate moss:rotfl: :rotfl: I remember my first week, I lost nothing and was gutted but kept on and now six months later 4 stone has gone:j :j
Very overcast today, going into work and going mad.....changing my soup today....I know I know it is a huge step but you see slim a soup minestrone has been my friend (don't like the other flavours) for such a long time, I am dumping it for healthy balance baxters minestrone soup:rotfl: (can't stray too far!!)
Tonight if H gets back in time going to Loch Fyne fish restaurant, got a £11 two course voucher including glass of wine so looking forward to that, will not have the fish covered in rich sauces etc but love fish.... had a passion for salmon but now like the minestrone soup am getting fed up with it;) ....my next thing will be cod or trout or crab meat....0 -

I have had a really terrible day and seen as we share here goes.....
H and I been arguing for 2 days now (he as a man mentioned to me that not only should I get my eyebrows done, was going to book an appointment for them as usual that while I was there to get my 'noticeable tash done' Anyway it went from how dare you? do you not think loosing 4 stone is enough, I cook for you, clean, bring your kids up and this is the lack of respect I get etc etc:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
2 days later still not talking.....today was supposed to be Loch Fyne fish dinner, he rang to cancel it saying his work had got tickets to the tower of London and we coud reschedule making me feel less important and tashed up:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
So, I decided to shower, make-up, skirt on, lovely top ( I am lucky enough to go to the boot fair each sunday and get loads of knock off clothes very cheaply and really do not make the most of them) for the school run, looking good I thought:D
I go into the school gates and not one person was wearing a skirt, summery like me and instead of the good looks I got the quizical looks , no one said anything but it made me think why I am I dressed in a skirt, why I have chosen this to wear, why, why:rotfl:
Now I just feel out of place and terrible again, wish I had not bothered, I tried to make myself feel fab and all I have managed to do is feel bad:rotfl: I really need to take myself in check and strangle the living daylights out of myself until I get some 'I am not so bad as I think' vibes going on:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Don't go for the slimming tablets, make sure you keep a food diary and write absolutely everything you eat and drink (easy to forget at the end of the day) drink loads of water, keep to a calorie per day, or do WW or SW or any one that suits yo uand your lifestyle.... have patience, it takes time, see if you can talk to your doc about what could be the problem (maybe some hidden reason why) make sure you exercise, always go for the low calorie, low sugar, low fat options, watch your portion sizes...0 -
Well done :T Suggs - SOTW :T When I weighed this week I was 127.2lbs so you've lost the equivalent of me at the moment, it really puts things into perspective. You are brill

...Victory I love rocket in salads too, you know you've had it because it's so peppery. We like to grow a few tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes and herbs and I sowed some rocket seeds in a trough last week, it was growing quite nicely, but when I looked yesterday morning a ******* cat had scratched a load of compost out and done it's unmentionables in it   :rotfl: :rotfl:
... I hope the weather is better with you all, it's crap here but at least I don't feel so guilty watching the tennis from Queens, rather than being outside and doing something useful ....such as being on cat patrol :rotfl:...
