hello all!
I've lost 3 lbs!! Got really excited when I saw my name on your list, and ran upstairs to strip off and weigh myself, much to the amusement of sons and the cat.
remembered to put clothes back on
could have done better this week, I was doing ok for the first 3 days, and then had to go to a couple of childrens birthday parties......mmmmm cake........0 -
Hey all, i'm struggling a bit.
On weight watchers, can i use up the food i've already god, such as tinned soup etc as long as it's within mmy points allowance, i've just noted down the points for all me leftopvers.
I'm struggling with breakfast too, i never eat breakfast, but thought if i had a piece of friut and a breakfast bar would that be ok? I dont really like cereals.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Where's my donkey gone??? LOL LOL (in the absence of rolly smilies)
That bean and vegetable stew was absolutely gorgeous, despite the use by date on the part used packet of beans found lurking at the back of the cupboard being end June 2006 hahahaha. The whole panful only came to just over a 1000 cals and I had less than a 1/4 and felt full for the rest of the evening, and I just made the recipe up as I went along. No windy emissions either hahaha.
Well done Sooz (Jumps up in air) 3lbs off yay yay That list is worth worth every second od Lois' time.
Welcome antonsmummy That first stone will soon come off and by doing it in bite sized pieces it's not so daunting at the start. Please stay with us. EDIT just read your new post, and I can't do breakfast either (I think someone else said so yesterday too) if I eat it I want to carry on for the rest of the day, so I don't bother with it at all.
beanie and honey I hope you both have lovely days as bridesmaids, and the weather has changed for the better yay yay.
Like some of you yesterday I too had problems with wanting to pick Grr! Grr! but as I'm nearing my target I didn't want to have something to eat then for it to stimulate my tastebubs (if you know what I mean), so I eventually had a couple of glasses of chilled sparkling mineral water into which I squeezed fresh lemon juice (didn't just dump a slice in as I normally do) and I found that it completely suppressed my appetite yay yay. So hopefully, this may help some of you too jump jump
Still having one of those weeks but I'm doing a Victory and laughing in the face of it (well, trying anyway)

you are doing well petrichor keep it up, you are going to be more delighted to loose the last bit than any tempting food could offer you:j I swear by hot water and lemon if I DID not have that I would be huge because the amount of times I use it as a hunger suppresent rather than reach for more food each day is unbelievable!! I take my hat off to V Beckham as she must have the willpower of all willpowers, her and Liz Hurley on her watercress foods!!
I am off to see VB hubby today at wembley (see, he knows that I like him so he has agreed to play for England again and has decided the best match to start it off with is the one I am going tonight, such a thoughtful man!!)
Where have the smilies gone?
Astonsmummy welcome and yes I suppose you can use the soups you already have but better still to buy the hundreds of low calorie, low fat, low sugar ones that are on the shelf these days, I use perfectly balanced ones from Waitrose or sainsburys ones and they are 75 calories per 1/2 can (who ever has just half a can!!) very filling and low in sugar and fat....
Watch out for the breakfast bars are they are very high in calories and sugar, could you not have a fruit smoothy for breakfast, a bowl of fruit with 0% fat greek yogurt or fromage frais, some crackers, kiwi fruit or melon or banana, all healthy stuff...
beanie and honey start your strutting, swish into the room and let everyone turn and say "my oh my you are looking good!!" You know you are both fab and will look terrif xx
Annie this temptation lark is going to happen all the time, now you are focused on healthy eating and getting the weight off there seems to be more tempting food around you as you are constantly aware that is not the foods you should be having if you want to achieve your goal....
The trick is to fil up on the good stuff and rise above what others are having, just leave the room (I have done this) if it all gets too much, I had some friends come round with a pizza and my lovely H sat with them in the kitchen while I 'busied myself' elsewhere until they had finished, I didn't want to sit there and watch them scoff it!!!
When you see others scoffing just smile inwards and think ah you see you all are weight gaining and I am loosing to look and feel happier, healthier and lovelier than you!!0 -
Hi, After reading about people being tempted to pick I realised that i do that too. I went outside and picked some fresh salad leaves from my garden and made a mixed salad bowl with tomatoes and cucumber, I am tempted to add some goats cheese but am resisting it for now. This is only really my second proper day on my healthy eating campaign as the beginning of the week was so busy I just ate whatever other people gave me. I feel like I am more in control now. The point I was trying to make is that every time I go in the kitchen I pick a piece of salad so I must be doing something right at last.
I had two oatibix with soya milk for breakfast but did think at the time that I should probably just have one.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Victory how was the crumble?
I fell off the wagon a bit this morning
This darned sugar thing really causes me a problem. Like you said before ... eat sugar and you just end up wanting more.
I had a mullerlight yoghurt yesterday and then another ...
As well as sweeteners - those yoghurts also have sugar. I'm going to have to cut out ALL sugar now I think.
Hopefully I can get back on track. I do need to be more strict though .... it seems every time I try eating healthy and cut back - I end up putting weight ONWhen I weighed on weds I had lost 1lb but by the end of the day I had eaten so much I was 3lbs heavier:mad:
sigh!0 -

Astonsmummy I'm following the WW points plan too (but going it alone). The beauty of the WW programme is that you can have whatever you want, as long as you point it and stay within your points allowance for the day. Just keep an eye out for high fat/calorie foods as they will be high in points too. and this means you might have fewer points for later. (Don't know what I'm going to do when I start to get this weigh off - points will be less too!)
As for breakfast, I agree with Victory, breakfast bars are usually quite high in points (and some have hydrogenated fat) so they're probably not a good idea although if you point them and count them from your daily allowance there's no reason why not. Again I agree with Victory - a smoothie or a couple of pieces of fruit would be better.
Annie well done on resisiting temptation so well. Just remember, it's your choice whether or not to eat all the rubbish everyone else eats. *thinks - why didn't you have a garden salad at mc donalds?* but wait till your weigh in - it'll be worth it!
Honey and Beanielou have a great time tomorrow at your weddings.
I'm heading on my big night out tonight with all the girlies (first time in almost 2 years:eek:). DS is being looked after by my MIL and OH is on night shift, so I can really let my hair down! I'll keep your advice in mind Victory - but my real problem is avoiding the dips etc in my friends house before and the chip shop on the way home. (Going to take low fat/low cal snacks with me to my friend's house) - Now, how to avoid the chippie in a drunken haze!:rotfl:Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
oooh can I join please! I started Weightwatchers last week for what seems like the one millionth time. I think my general attitude has changed now and I'm determined to cut my weight.
I'm still fairly young but my friends who are all slim seem to have much more fun than me. I want to be able to go into any shop and buy clothes (at the moment I'm confined to Evans and the like) and I want to have a nice swimsuit on the beach.
I have this horrible feeling that I'm leeting my weight hold me back and life is passing me by as I daren't step out of my corner and into the limelight (I hope that makes sense).
Anyway, All words of encouragement and support will be welcomed and I'll in turn offer them to everyone. At the moment I have over half of my body weight to loose (I feel terrible when I say that) I had my first weigh in yesterday and lost 4lbs.
Good luck everyone!
Hi chika and 'well done' on losing the first 4lbs of many :T You'll soon find that the time will go as quickly as your weight and that the corner will be a less frequented place. You aren't the only one here that's been to WW many times beforebut now that you've got a different attitude this will be the last time!! Keep in mind how you want to look and how much better you'll feel when the hot weather comes - last year I dreaded to hear yet another weather forecast for sunny and hot, I wanted rainy and cool so that I needn't go outside - every lb off helps you to feel better about yourself and it only gets harder as you get older - so get it off now - That is from my experience
and good luck!
