peanut never got round to the making ofthe crumble, had the rhubarb with % greek fat yogurt without adding any sugar as am diabetic and oh boy was it bitter, nice but bitter:D
The trick with the sugar is to allow it to leave your system for 28 days that is how long it takes to change a habit, I am not a sugar person being diabetic but have read loads about it and especially on the New Zealand show on Sky they keep saying the more you have the more you crave, I guess like an addiction and you have to break the cycle...
Find something else that you like that does not involve sugar and enjoy that, look forward to it, I love raspberries, strawberries and the sugar in apples because they are natural sugars, good for you and it stops the cravings...
Ask me 6 months ago if I would happily munch on some cucumber slices or pepper slices or eat loads of salads to keep full and fed and I would have laughed but that is just it habits have to be broken and changed to bring new healthier ones in that you can stick to and enjoy, eating things that do not appeal and are forced down makes the whole process a trillion times harder so there is no point to that, the point is finding things that are good, healthy, that you enjoy, low calorie, low sugar and low fat...
delly I use avoidance tactics when it comes to going out, don't go but if you must then do not sit anywhere near the dips, crisps etc and keep mingling and talking away from it with a low calorie drink in hand. No one will know you are not joining in as it were and you feel a million dollars the next day with pride that you achieved it and are still on course for the weight loss...
As for the chips and take away on the way home, the same don't go, get a taxi straight home or walk straight past it and keep on walking...0 -

Just keep an eye out for high fat/calorie foods as they will be high in points too. and this means you might have fewer points for later. (Don't know what I'm going to do when I start to get this weigh off - points will be less too!)
delly Don't worry about that because you'll find after a while you'll be eating less quite subconciously. When I look at what I eat now and think about what I used to eat, no wonder I gained weight:eek: Try and get into a habit of good portion control, I very rarely use a dinner plate now and use pasta and gratin dishes like they do in pubs, believe me the food doesn't look so lonely on them as it does on a plate, because you will only want to fill the plate.
:T :T Well done evergreen :T :T that's a great start.
retiredlady I meant to say this the other day - Glad you had a nice holiday (again!! - jealous! me! No Way!! ) and I hope that you've managed to get back into the swing if things. How's the lovely Charlie?
Victory I'm in complete agreement with you about totally avoiding certain foods. I can't believe what I don't have in my cupboards now compared to last year, and the thing is, I don't miss it! Long may it continue:D

Hiya everone, I went to get weighed at my local chemist today and I weigh blah stone and 4lb. I have been trying to lose weight...well all my life, my mother sounds very much like Vicory's mother. I love her so much but her remarks can be so cutting sometimes. I did talk to about this and I think she is kind of getting the message, she now apologises atfer the remark, you gotta laugh.
I'd like to say wtg to all that are losing weight you are an insperation.
I am hoping that one day I may be able to inspire someone myself.

Victory - thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind tonight. I don't expect to be drinking too much once we get into the club - I'm much to tight to pay those kinds of prices. And I've just picked up a couple of packets of snack a jacks for my friends house in case I'm tempted. I'll cling onto a skinny person on the way home and should avoid the temptation of a takeaway.
petrichor - thanks for the advice. I've started using a side plate for my lunch but a gratin plate sounds much better!Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Hi Astonsmummy - rather than 'waste' points on foods you don't really like, why not have something you do like for breakfast - fresh fruit with yogurt, a fruit smoothie, toast, eggs, beans, low fat sausages..?

Hi all and welcome to the newcomers:hello:
Got very confused with new look, thought kids had messed with screen:rotfl:
I maintainedlast night at weigh in which was not too bad considering last weeks gain... Wanted to get to target before hols next week but looking very unlikely now:o 3lbs would do it but I tend to loose 1 - 2 lbs a week.
Oh well, will just have to start again after hols:D Kids are taking their bikes and one is about my size (bike not DS) so have resolved to do some cycling when away as there are some great paths down the side of the canal
Well done to all losers and maintainers, tough luck to gainers ( it happens to us all:D )

Hi everyone
Sorry I did not get a chance to post on Wednesday but am really pleased with myself, managed to lose 2kgs since I started on the 23rd. I know that's well over a week and that it is a big loss as I've only just started, but it's a good start. 76.2kg to 74.2kgs. My goal is to weight about 50kgs.
I am hoping to lose 500g every week, so thankyou to everyone on here for the motivation and good advice.
Thanx so much and very well done to everyone.
