I'm with Weight Watchers, and Murphy's No More Pies Club, and now I'm here. The big question is will joinng all these support groups e enough to inspire me to actually do it?

It's only a stone and a half, but I seem to just want to eat biscuits.

    Come on guys motivate me.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Anyone else had this problem? THe company claims they have not been told of any similar incidents.

Welcome to the thread Trixabella, hollydays, gravitytolls and chika.

    gravity
    - most motivation has to come from you.... what's your reason for wanting to lose weight? If it's not for yourself, it's unlikely you'll succeed. on the first post Lois has a link to Victory's top 20 get started ideas... Have a look at that. But I have to admit, the best way to avoid eating biscuits is to not buy them. If you don't want to deny your family having a biscuit whilst you try to lose weight put them into a cupboard where you don't normally go... either one that's too high or two low for you to reach. Usually, if you can't see them you don't want them. Oh, and if you feel like you're sliding back to the biscuit tin.... come on here and post first, then see how you feel after it.

chika - don't put off living your life until you lose weight. You should live your life as if you were already at your perfect weight for you. What exactly is it that you want to do that your weight is holding you back from? Write a list of reasons why you want to lose weight and look at it whenever you feel "tempted"

Trixabella - 6lbs over 2 months is a good weightloss - Any weight that comes off slowly is more likely to stay off. I am all for the grand gestures in trying to lose weight (my gym instructor wants me to come in 5 times a week!:rotfl:) but it has to be sustainable in the long run for you to succeed. Lois Lane usually posts the weightloss chart on a Wednesday night - so if you could post your results before that Lois will add them in. If you want to join the 2lb club or the June challenge, send Lois a pm or just post on here.

hollydays - sorry, I've never had the willpower to try slimfast - It just seemed much too restrictive for me. Well done on the 11lbs off so far. Welcome to the thread....

PHew! long post..... you guys'll be kicking me off for being longwinded. :rotfl: (thinks "I must start to follow my own advice!")
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

aarghhh ... this is the most difficult time of the day for me.

Tired, nibbly, most likely to stray and eat somthing I shouldn't. I think the 'post lunch lull' is quite widely known. Does anyone else here suffer with it?

I read somewhere that if you make sure to have some protein in your lunch it helps reduce liklehood of the dip in blood sugars mid afternoon.

Being vegetarian ... it's not always that easy to include protein. You can get vege ham (v.expensive though) and I don't eat eggs. Because I am preparing lunch for 4 children (and being half term) I find it's easiest to have a sandwich with them.

I'll have a hot drink and 5 mins rest and hopfully the cravings will pass:o

I am fortunate (or is that unfortunate!) enough to work in an office all day so I am restricted in what I have access to but I generally try to push my lunch til as late as possible in the day (I am currently munching on it now). I eat salads most days for lunch and the advantage of a salad is that it takes quite a while to eat it so you feel like you have eaten a fair bit. Iif I have a sandwich for lunch - it's in front of me one second, and gone the next and I wonder where it went and how I didn't even notice eating it.

I guess my advice is to try to eat your lunch slowly (with a bowl of soup beforehand or the like) so that it is not such a long hungry afternoon until dinner.

Here's the chart for this week, and also the last for May, so well done to Victory, [strike]Petrichor[/strike], Honey, Mineallmine, Bindiboo and ME (:D) for achieving the month's challenge. :j

Thanks for the chart Lois, but I must put my hand up and say that I failed to meet the May challenge by 0.8 lb (1.4+0.2+2.6=4.2) so the yellow bar* next to my name should be struck from the chart too, but hearty congrats to all of you that did meet it  and Heather for SOTW.

It's nice to read all the positive and helpful posts these last few days; I'm having one of those bummer of a weeks, letting things get to me, taking everything personally and seeing slights everywhere. I feel as if I'm under a cloud and look! vzr3sj0.gifI'm even having to share that with a donkey!!!!

No need to worry here, I'll demonstrate ..usqzkxp.gif and no doubt that goes for the cabbage diet too!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks for cheering me up a tad.

I'll try and be back later with a more 'helpful' post, but I don't hold out much hope. Off now to make a mixed bean and vegetable stew type thingy (hmm! wonder what'll go wrong with that?)

    xxxx

ps jcal6ws.bmp to all you lovely new folk :j

    * I must admit that I had wondered what they stood for :o
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I have done that diet and it was the most miserable, soul destroying, unhappy time of my life:eek: I hated it and would never recommend it, it is like you are the only person on the planet that has to suffer so and the suffering is too much to bear:rotfl: :rotfl:

I agree with delly motivation has to come from within I am afraid gravity the biscuits have to go to achieve the weight loss, don't buy them in, don't buy crisps in and any easy quick fixes high calorie snacks as you can replace all of those with easy to get to quick snacks that are low calories, healthy, filling and great for your figure rather than wasting calories on high processed foods that are weight gaining....

You can change a habit, if it is biscuits change them to crackers or salad stuff, snack on fruit, enjoy your food, eat slowly, little spoons for soups, makes it last longer, finely chop, makes it look more, switch the tele off and enjoy what your eating, make a conscious effort to change and your weight will drop off, swap everything high for low calorie, if it has to be biscuits there are light ones, less % fat ones...

I am off to try the crumble topping as I have some rhubarb in the fridge and I love it:D
