Reading through all the supportive replies....may I join your group?? When do I submit weight loss (im being hopeful)? Started Tuesday and been walking/gentle jogging for the past 2 days. Last time I tried to lose weight I got rid of 6lbs over 2 months which doesn't sound too good, however, took photo and measurements at the beginning and found i lost 2 inches off each thigh and waist went down right down - i felt fabulous. Xmas came and went, weight came and stayed - attending wedding soon and big birthday looming......
Going to use threads as diary I think - feel free to comment.0 -
Just a quick post, have been rushed off my feet this week with work, kids, builders and weddings. Beanielou - enjoy the wedding, mine (well not mine, but the one I am bridesmaid at
) is on Saturday too so will be thinking of you.
Havent had time to weigh this week but think its a gain, the 5lb loss last week was too good to be true and after DD birthday at the weekend, BBQ, out every night this week so far I think some has gone back on! Oh, such a hectic social life I lead :rotfl: (will be glad when its all over)
Well done to all the losers and good luck for the next week ahead,
Take care all

A quick question ... was wondering if anyone could help....
I've got some lovely fresh Rhubarb from the garden (very OS!) I was hoping to make a crumble for the family and was wondering if anyone had a low cal topping recipe?
I was thinking maybe substitute the sugar for Splenda and maybe add in some oats (to give the crunch which you don't get when you omit regular sugar)
Any suggestions gratefully received
Thanks all, xxpp050 -

But that set me on the spiral of hating myself, always thinking I'm fat etc. and it's taken me a very long time to move beyond all of that (one of the reasons why I recommend Dr. Phil - not for the diet, but to help you "heal feelings" that might cause you too put on weight).
Yes, 80 plus age is too old to change her and she would not want to, she sees herself as right, perfect, knowledgeable and [STRIKE]honest[/STRIKE] blunt bordering on rudeness:rotfl:
kfer I am diabetic also have been for 8 years now and arthritic and got gout so I am perfectly healthy ha ha ha, anyway I have a diabetic nutritionalist when I first started on this healthy eating journey and she has been a godsend, she worked out for me how long it would take to loose the weight (today is May 31st and I made it in time!!) what to eat, what to avoid, how to handle the insulin, all fantastic stuff ask your doc to be refeered, it is better for diabetics to have the backing, help and support of a professional than to go it alone, especially seen as you are new to the diabetes....
I know it is possible to loose weight being diabetic, I hid behind it for ages telling myself I needed these carbohydrates for the insulin or this much food for the insulin but it is not true, I was making myself iller, fatter and had huge amounts of insulin, now I have tiny amounts of insulin and the weight has gone....
Please go back to your doc and get the proper help, you will benefit no end from their experience...0 -
Crumble recipe
OK - got it! There is a recipe for it on the splenda website:doh:
... now if only I could find a way of not having to use the margarine too:think:0 -
Yeah!!! and many, many congrats to Victory for reaching goal  You got the 'have a beer' smilie because I don't have a 'have a bacon buttie' one - unless the smilie queens can find one
I was going to say that your mother needed a good slap but I guess she doesn'tActually you only earn the right to say what you want IF you know what you are talking about and only IF you are able to look at any comment made from all sides without bias. Your mother has a very skewiff view on life if she believes that Mrs Beckham is a role model for anyone. The last photo I saw of her (Mrs Beckham not your mother
) she looked like a stick insect with grapefruit stuck on her chest. It was only her 'tan' that made her look anything like healthy. The old adage 'if you can't say something positive don't say anything at all' should be made into a bit picture and given to your mother as a present !!
Oh it's only my take on it but every photo I see of Victory Beckham she is holding hands with hubby and always seems to be a step behind him - not an image of someone who is secure in life.
Lois it was me who wanted a yellow bar next to their name. Glad it inspired you 'cos it didn't me >< Sorry I'm late for the chart but then I only maintained. I'll get next weeks in on time for the next update. I think I'm too late for the list but if you can remember can you add me please?
I'm glad that site is working for you. I cannot get my head around calorie counting as I keep slipping back into SW.
Now then look at me chattering away^^ I haven't been here as I had a couple of days off work so welcome :T and hello to any newbies and congrats to all who lost - especially those that met the last challange.
Everytime I read through the thread I get re-motivated and although I've only lost 5 lbs it is definitely 5 lbs I wouldn't have lost without all your help. At least I've stopped the momentum of 'gain'. The thought of having to update my info on here every week stops me eating certain things I shouldn't. Not every time but enough to make a difference - you are all :A
Better get back to work and clearing up the backlog that always appears on my desk. Sometimes it just isn't worth having time off!0 -
oooh can I join please! I started Weightwatchers last week for what seems like the one millionth time. I think my general attitude has changed now and I'm determined to cut my weight.
I'm still fairly young but my friends who are all slim seem to have much more fun than me. I want to be able to go into any shop and buy clothes (at the moment I'm confined to Evans and the like) and I want to have a nice swimsuit on the beach.
I have this horrible feeling that I'm leeting my weight hold me back and life is passing me by as I daren't step out of my corner and into the limelight (I hope that makes sense).
Anyway, All words of encouragement and support will be welcomed and I'll in turn offer them to everyone. At the moment I have over half of my body weight to loose (I feel terrible when I say that) I had my first weigh in yesterday and lost 4lbs.
Good luck everyone! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -

I make the crumble with 1/2 cup wholemeal flour, 1/2 cup rolled oats, 2 tsp flora diet, 2 tsp splenda or similar, 1 pinch cinnamon, 2 tsp grated apple.
That works great with berries, apple and pear crumbles, with rhubarb when serving I usually add a bit of honey and low fat creme fraiche.
