    Quick question...

What do you do with all these 'oops' goodies, like if they have that days date as best before?

I'm just curious because I see lots of people posting their buys on a sc site but I worry what I would do with it all, can you freeze them?

sorry to be pedantic , but most fresh stuff would be "use-by" rather than "best before".
Almost all of the yellow stickered meat/fish/bread I buy goes straight into the freezer. Vegetables I make sure I can use it soon , or make into soup and freeze

I freeze meat, fish and bread products. With my leeks I made leek and potato soup with 1.5 packs (now in freezer), had one with a roast dinner today and the other pack is still fine so will gradually use during the week. Made butternut squash soup with two reduced prepared packs I bought at the same time as the leeks (again in freezer).

I rarely buy meat at full price. I got three packs of lamb mince reduced to £1.49 a pack and they were on a buy three for £10 so got £2 off as well, meaning three packs for £2.47 - they're now in the freezer.

I bought a YS loaf of bread from Sainsbos last night - must have been about 10.30pm. When I got home and opened the pack, the second slice had a definite green spot on it, repeated throughout the loaf. The sell by date is 12th Nov (today).

I need to go back to get another loaf - my question is whether you would bother to get the money refunded? The loaf cost all of 24p.

Now I have written it down it's less of a dilemma :o

I often take ys items back if I am unable to eat them! Yesterday took some baking potatoes back that were green. Every little helps, however, I am seriously tight(lol).
