Our local asda is good for YS shopping, so good a coach of Hens stopped off there on their way to stock up yesterday!

I got a pack of New York bagels and a Kingsmill seeded loaf for 10p each, this asda usually good for meat reductions but nothing doing her I was there. I did see a couple walk out with a carrier bag full of YS packs of 12 eggs, at least 6 boxes. I hope they manage to use them before they go funny, even I'd struggle to bake that many cakes or eat that any omlettes ;)

Been down to my local co-op, I got a block of emmental cheese for 29p, a pack of mini chicken kievs for 29p and a hummus carrot dip thing for 19p. Cheese and kievs are in the freezer, the dip is a treat for me for later. I have a family BBQ in a few weeks so we are all taking bits, I'll cook up the kievs and make some cheese straws or a pizza or something with the cheese.

Never tried it myself - but uncooked eggs can be frozen ( though not in the shell )

I had a yellow stickered lunch of 49p sandwich thins, 49p sandwich filler and 69p hummus. Was tasty ♥

They might have pickled the eggs, a friend at uni used to pickle eggs after buying them ysed.

I often freeze eggs. They are completely fine. I got taught that if the eggs were to be used for savoury cooking add some salt, for sweet cooking add sugar, before freezing.

Perfect for if you just fancy making up some egg fried rice, or some cakes and realise you have run out of eggs. Especially as I live in a village where the cheapest for 1/2 dozen of eggs is well over £2.00.
