In Lidl today there was a lot of reduced meat by 30%, so for £9 got 800g lean beef chunks, 1Kg minced beef and 300g pork medallions. It will translate to many meals for me and although not drastic reductions there is still two days before use by date.

I dropped into Tesco as an afterthought on my way back from Lidl. I had been thinking what a bore it would be to have to make a white sauce tonight just for my lasagne but wanted to see if Tesco had any pre-chopped veg at knock down prices so that I can dehydrate them quickly. I was twice rewarded as the fresh white sauce (can freeze) was reduced from £2 to 50p and the sushi from £1.35 to 34p (lunch). Loads of chopped veg which I will dry overnight and will save me the effort of preparing. Strawberries, organic 30p, runner beans 13p pack etc. It's not so much how much I saved but how much fun it gave me!

    How sad am I?
