I bought two bits of yellow stickered broccoli for 6p each in tesco tonight, went through at over 2 quid as the girl weighed them instead of scanning them so I spoke to customer services and because I had been overcharged I got double the difference back, £4.54.

Check your Sainsbury's for the 1kg cartons of Ambrosia low fat custard - reduced to only 20p from £1.69 and obviously a clearance item.

Also grabbed 4 large Pizza Express pizzas for £1.29. They were the larger 12" ones (supposed to be a regular £6) on offer for £3 (Sainsbury's). I don't like to pay more than 99p for a pizza, but these were the larger ones and they are quite nice.

  • Not a lot on the bargain shelves recently, but got a couple of chicken and bacon pies for 26p each (I don't usually pick up ready meals, but they're handy to have in the freezer) and a couple of cauliflowers at 25p each.

    From Waitrose:

2 x game casserole meat reduced from £4.29 each to £1.69 each, plus 24 lamb meatballs reduced from £4 to £2.49 = £5.87, then the 3 for £10 kicked in taking off £2.58, so all three for £3.29.

Also got some venison sausages reduced from £3.19 to £1.45 and some gourmet sausages reduced from £3.19 to £1.29 = £2.74, then the two for £5 kicked in taking off £1.38 = £1.36.

Have just made seven individual game pies (recipe included venison sausages :D) with puff pastry tops. Well chuffed :)!

    Last night in Tesco:

Packs of 4 chicken breasts £1.50 (got three packs)
Small cauliflowers 5p each (got two)
Carrots 10p a bag (Got one)
    Pot of coriander 10p
Mini nan breads 8p pack (got two)

Making curry tonight, yes. I also spent around £30 on cat food and litter so Tesco didn't do too badly out of me despite the bargains.

  • Haven't posted before on this board, but managed to get 2 x cooked chickens for £1.25 each plus a 5p bag of carrots tonight. Will strip the chickens down and make some stock with the bones, chicken will be popped into the freezer for another day x
