Was in my local Mr T today looking for bargains but nothing to be had but I did notice that they have loads of frozen turkeys still at full price - was wondering if they will be reducing them soon to free up freezer space, would be a great bargain
I think they just put them away until Easter.

Or failing that re-establishing the higher price so they can have them at "half-price" over Easter.

I got some good stuff at Mr S this evening :)

    Chocolate covered pretzels 45p
    BBQ snack mix 90p
Salt and pepper corn chips 60p
    Maple and bacon popcorn 45p
    Stuffed pork belly joint £1.50
    Lamb chops (4 pack) £2.25
    Pork chops (6 pack) £2.50
    Pork goujons 55p
    Fresh chicken gravy 20p

I wouldn't usually buy the snack stuff but I'm having people round for birthday drinks at the weekend and wanted some snacks to serve. Freezer's full of meat now! They also had all their frozen turkeys at half price, but only had the really big ones left.

I can never seem to find these bargains that you guys are mentioning. I suppose some of it really is being in the right place at the right time, and I rarely go to the supermarket that late. I should start! Normally when I see yellow stickers they've only knocked 20p or so off.

Do you guys find the bigger supermarkets are better or smaller 'express' type ones for bargains?

It's ALL about being in the right place at the right time. Final reductions take place close to closing time, are usually 75-90% and as such, they don't stay on the shelves for very long at all. If you're not there in that ten minute window as and after the reductions are done then all the best items will be gone. To be successful at the sticker game you've got to spend a little time working out the best time to go in and then make a point of being there regularly at that time.

I go into my local Tesco Extra in the evening about 8pm twice a week because I'm out taxi-ing kids around anyway and it's convenient and I get a lot of yellow stickers, I very seldom buy meat at full price and we eat a lot of exotic fruit. If I could manage to go more often then I'm pretty sure I could get practically all my meat, fruit, veg and bread products at 75%+ reduction and that's for a family of four with two hollow legged teenagers. It's well worth making the effort to go if you're on a budget.

You can tell its jan and people are brassic. Our mr s is normally pretty quiet for ys shoppers. Today they were like gannets.

Did manage to get a few bits. I find our one really good for meat from the counter in particular. X

My local Tesco's at the min are all 24 hrs... So I will have to do some research to find out when they do their reductions. :)

We're moving house soon, the new house has a mini Tesco up the road, so will have to figure out their 'reduction' times as well as the other supermarkets in the area.

  • Popped into mr T tonite and picked up 2 fresh apple pies reduced from £1 to 20p. I'm sure they can be frozen but hubby not so sure. They are pre cooked anyhow. If they can be frozen do I take them out of the box and put in foil? Also picked up Christmas fruits in a mulled wine for £1:25 from £5 from their finest range :T
