Only spent 59p today on grocery shopping and only reduced item was a bag of salad reduced to 9p (Morries famous 9p's).
The other 50p was on bread buns (5 x large on offer at Morries).
I needed fresh bread. lol
Kirri - I'm still being frugal, but easier to meal plan now. No plans on going back to paying full price ............................ all that effort has left it's mark.

I've reached/sank to a new all time high/low, depending on how you look at it
I've decided to keep a spreadsheet of all the reduced purchases I make for the next year. It shows what the full price would be, and what I paid for it
So far I've bought 61 items, which bought at full price would have cost me £153.43. The actual total price I paid was £33.73
That's a saving of just over 78%
I'm planning on popping back each month with a new updated figure

We popped into Tesco at about 6pm on Tuesday and just happened to be in the meat aisle when the chap was reducing a load of minced beef. 750g for 60p!! I grabbed 4 for the freezer but there were about 20+ more. Also got beef steaks £3 from £6.
It's rare we find anything worth buying in Tesco but I was pleased with that haul!

Went shopping last night to Sainsbury's at about 7pm - first time in over 3 years, with the idea of ys shopping.
The ys items didn't look too much of a bargain, most only had a few pence knocked off, nothng like the bargains others seem to achieve on reading these posts. Mince was reduced from £3.49 to £2.99, is this the usual practise or was I unlucky in my timing? So bought nothing except potatoes at full price which I needed anyway.
I have put the 'food' money I have budgeted for the week in a seperate purse. I hope that will help in keeping the cost down. Has anyone got any more tips I could use to stop me spending?0 -

Timing. I tend to find that they reduce it much later nowadays. My local Sainsburys shuts at 11pm, so there is no point going before 9.30pm.0 -
Thanks Ezmondino, I'll give it a go and actually it would fit in very well with my routine as it means I can get tea out of the way first before venturing out0

I managed to get reduced price organic raspberries 20p at Sainsbury's and stuffed em in the freezer. OH unearthed them and used apples from my mother's garden and rhubarb to make fruit crumble
He said that putting the raspberries in frozen rather than thawing them out first, stopped them turning into nasty mush.
I'm on the hunt for more YS organic fruit this weekend
