Another reason to be thankful for living near a Waitrose, much calmer atmosphere in the shop and good bargains if you are lucky.0

Some stores won't allow this but some do.
i also witnessed a riot in Tesco in Hayes ( London) with people panicking over old vegtables, that disgusted me. Some lady was pushed into a pile of bread ! i lost the will to live and walked out.
so i asked if i could have some stuff of the trolly and she said yes,,,,, ha ha thats the way to beat them“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I found out if you look for the store assistant reducing the stuff in different aisles he/she puts it on the trolly before going to the reduced section,

This doesn't work in certain stores. In my local Tesco they're not allowed to do give you items off the trolley, they have to put them in the fridge first0 -
Very pleased with my shopping today.
I went to Sainsbury's to return a pair of jeans. Bought them last Monday and then when I was there Friday I say the 25% off on TU so bought another pair and returned the non-reduced ones.
OK so I'd saved there BUT....raspberries reduced to 30p from £2, bags of peppers reduced to 20 p from £1+ and spring onions for 19p. the peppers I'll slice up and freeze, the spring onions I'll use for a stir-fry tomorrow, the raspberries I'll just gobble up later!:D0 -
maman - nice bargains and well done with the 25% TU saving. I would have done that. lol
I managed to get some cranberry bread for only 5p from Morries the other day - actually very nice toasted. They had loads of packs of 5 jam doughnuts for 9p (too many calories there though). I also got some packs of 2 speciality pasties from the bake in store for 75p per pack of two (in freezer).
Picked up some packs of 2 garlic and coriander naan breads for only 10p per pack in Sainsbury's along with other stuff like twin packs of sponge puddings and apple crumbles for 25p per pack.
Having a few days off.
Go grab those bargains and save, save, save.

VfM4meplse - that can be so true and I've bought lots in the past which I shouldn't have.
The positive is (I suppose), is I/we have tried things we would never have bought at full price. £3'ish items for 75p, £4'ish for £1 etc, etc.
I'm a little more "picky" now TBH and not as many "mistakes".
Fruit and veg vastly reduced in Sainsbury's does help.
Only spend yesterday was a 20p Warburtons "half and half" loaf.
Froze some for toast an the birds will get a good share.
I left all the "garbage" though.

my nearest waitrose is 30min drive. whens best to go?
I've never seen reductions in my local Waitrose that would be worth driving for 30 min (each way?) with the cost of petrol these days.
But the quality of reduced food is good, unlike some other shops.. They start reducing in my local one around 7pm ish on the veg but there's still reduced items there first thing in the morning. There's never mega cheap stuff though.0 -
Yesterday I got 3 W'rose Love Life ready meals for 55p/each reduced from almost £3.
That's my lazy post-work dinner nights sorted, straight in the freezer they went!
I never usually find decent reductions where I live, but when I'm staying with the boy, more near the city they tend to be better.0 -
Picked up quite a bit last night - free range chicken (halved and in freezer), not great @ just over £2, but over £5 off original (high) price. Very large water melon for 64p, grapes for 49p, garlic and cheese pizzas @ 29p each and other bits.
I did buy bananas at full price (68p per kg), but I only buy bananas on the green side and can't generally get them reduced!!
I need to relax a little and use stuff up before buying again. lol
I'll still take non-freezer stuff though, especially fruit and veg.
Kirri - hope you are well.
