Reduced bargains and yellow stickers shopping

lizzie, do you mean that you ask the supermarket staff or posters here? Many people seem to know the best times for reductions at their local shops, but it often occurs at late evening.0

Hi - I ask the supermarket staff, not the manager or anything but staff I can see in the aisles. Or, of course if I see a member of staff actually in the act of reducing the prices. This may differ from store to store so best to ask in your local store. Certainly if you go later in the day seems to be the best. In some stores (M&S) they seem to leave it very late as I think they then sell it off to the staff at very reduced prices.0

I buy a lot of reduced fresh food at Waitrose, especially meat and fish. I get the best reductions either on Sunday at 3.30 or on Monday morning about 9.30. I can't remember paying for meat or fish except at 50% off for a number of years. I do have a pretty full freezer so I go about once a month and if there are no reductions I don't buy.
Also Waitrose honour their three for £10 offers even when the food is reduced which makes an even bigger saving. They are expensive to start with but the reductions make it affordable. I do love food shopping at Waitrose it is very calm in comparison with other supermarkets. Now I just need not to visit until I have eaten through the food in the freezer!0 -

The time reductions are done in 1 store could be different to what time they are done in your local store. no harm in aksing the staff what time they get done.0 -

Me too. I very rarely buy at full price. For example on Saturday I bought three packs of their bbq meats, which had been reduced from £4 each to 99p, 99p and £1.99. Once they'd taken off the £2 in their 3 for £10 offer, it had cost me £1.97! I bought £24-somethng of shopping for £6-something. The multi-buy reductions are always the best. I often get bread for 10p a loaf (cheaper than in the breadmaker) and it lasts a while as well. I got a tub of fromage frais reduced from £1.40 to 19p.
I've said it before on this forum, but I sometimes come away with them having paid me. Trouble is, I have trouble getting it in the freezer sometimes.

I love it when that happens!:D0 -
I need to start shopping at Waitrose too! I struggle getting to the supermarkets in the evening as our little one is usually in bed so I don't tend to get the really good deals often but I find that tesco express shops tend to have some good reduced tickets by tea time so I always grab those when I can.0

I LOVE a bargain. In fact, I love it so much I get tingly when I see the reduced section full of items at my local morrisons!!
On Sunday I went in at 3pm (as I know they have a final reduction) and found dozens of loaves of hovis being marked down from their already reduced price of 79p to just 19p a loaf!!So I got myself 12 loaves:o I did feel slightly silly strolling through the supermarket with a trolley full of bread-but who is sillier? People paying full price or me stocking up when its dirt cheap??!!!
I also got a bag of rustic rolls and a crusty farmhouse loaf for 9p EACH!
I love a bargain...please tell me you get as excited as me0
