Had some YS goodies this week, the best of which was some organic baby milk, in date for another year or so!:

    - Tin of Hipp Organic Goodnight Milk for £2.50 (was £5.36).
    - Chicken pie for 61p (was £1.35).
    - Fresh green beans for 85p (was £1.00).
    - Fresh juice energy drink for 38p (was 85p).
    - Fresh orange juice drink for 45p (was £1.00).
    - Peppa Pig fromage frais 6pk for free - was YS to 70p (was £1.00), but when I got home I noticed the cashier hadn't actually scanned it through!

    :)

If people are into ALDI shopping then their short life meat and bread is reduced by 30-50% everynight. Best time is last 15 mins before close or right at open. ALDI only really reduce chilled and bread items. The meats dates are actually a few days before the manufacturer advised dates, so stays fresher longer.

We think the UK is bad for reduced vultures. Earlier this year whilst in Las Vegas one the stores had 3 full Aisles of reduced. (massive store, approx 5x the size of tesco extra store) It had shelved area, chilled, frozen and misty veg area. You had to queue to get into the Aisles and the barriers guided you along through them all. Also it had security with tazers in each aisle. lol. But everyone was still arguing over the food and a few fights broke out.

Omg that sounds awful! If we ever go to Vegas I might need to go and check this out! Along with any garage sales to see if I can find some art that's worth a fortune!
  • What is the best time to go for YS stuff these days - half an hour before closing or earlier?

I used to work in Morrisons years ago and the hot counter stuff got reduced to silly prices about 15 mins from closing - I was a checkout girl and the girl who did the reductions used to come around with a tray with the reductions shouting 'Cheap Chicks at checkouts' which she thought was hilarious!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's no secret that I love the reduced fridges. My heart flutters when I see a reduced yellow sticker. Even to the point that for my birthday last year, my missus decked out our fridge as a reduced fridge - gotta love her

I've reached/sank to a new all time high/low, depending on how you look at it

I've decided to keep a spreadsheet of all the reduced purchases I make for the next year. It shows what the full price would be, and what I paid for it

So far I've bought 61 items, which bought at full price would have cost me £153.43. The actual total price I paid was £33.73

    That's a saving of just over 78% :D

I'm planning on popping back each month with a new updated figure
