Reduced bargains and yellow stickers shopping

Just got back from my local Tesco's:

From the bakery section;

A pack of 'fresh' croissants, £2 down to 20p
Pack of donuts 60p down to 7p
Loaf of Tesco brand long life bread, 90p to 25p

Fruit and Salad section;

Pack of mixed salad leaves, 13p
Cucumber portion, 2p
Beef Tomato, 11p
Pack of Tesco Finest Red Peppers, 88p
Chopped Onions 14p

Meat Section;

2 packs of Chicken Breasts, £5.XX to £1.88
2 Meat Counter Sirloin Steaks, £9.87 to £2.91
2 packs of Quorn Mince, 35p
1 Pack of Lean Mince, £1.65

And finally from the hot deli section;
2 packs or Potato Wedges, 30p
and finally 2 Chicken Legs, 29p for each.

Saved an absolute fortune, and the meals are planned for the week!

Brilliant stuff with loads and loads of other huge reduction waiting for others to buy.

Hello,

I always take a look at the reduced price items in my local supermarkets. I only really tend to get meats I can freeze or food I know Im eating that day

I do have a question though - how "fresh" is the bread, fruit, veg etc etc if its being YS? as in, does it last ok? Also with other stuff I cant freeze like cheese, milk etc are these all ok?

But you can freeze bread, cheese and milk.

As long as they would have lasted if they hadn't been frozen:D. I've used milk a week after its use by date and it's been okay. You just have to use your nose really. The same with cheese, except it usually lasts a lot longer. It's best to defrost in the fridge slowly.

In waitrose last night I got

2x lemon drizzle cakes 1.99 each - 10p each
chocolate cake 1.99 - 10p
2pk pan au chocolate 1.30ish - 10p
4pk crusty rolls 1.09 - 10p
Hovis thick slice loaf 1.35 - 10p

60p for the lot but cakes were on 2 for 3.00 so waitrose had to pay me 38p :rotfl:

I bought some pansies in a pot that were £0.15p reduced from £3.99 at tesco back in May. My wife had a real grump about buying stuff we don't need.
2 weeks later she took me to a garden centre and spent £75 on plants.

Amazingly the 15p plants look better to me.

I know that Tesco and Asda have special display cases for their reduced goods, but does anyone how Waitrose reduces their items? Do you have to search around each separate counter and hope to get lucky? Also, is there a best day/time for Waitrose reductions? Thank you!

I was in Waitrose the other day at about 3/4 hour before they closed. They were reducing the bread to 10p :eek: There were other reductions too.

I usually ask to find out when a supermarket reduces their stock. Then I go to those at the 'reduced' times when I can.
