My point is Royal Mail take their post and deliver it to us in the UK. How much is it costing Royal Mail to do so? Are we not subsidising each and every time we post something. It obvious that if a large parcel only costs an ordinary person in China (and probably a lot cheaper for a Chinese business) £1.71, and we are paying 5.20, then you do the math.
A couple of you think I am complaining about the cost in China or why it is cheaper - I am not. Think about what Royal Mail have agreed to and it's implications.

its a little more complex than RM simply 'doing a deal'0 -
You might try looking at the community boards on ebay, there is quite a alot of chat on there about business accounts with suggestions that the prices will be much much cheaper than the advertised ones for private customers.
Can you post a link or at least say what category it is under?Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0 -

If you are a powerseller then there;s this one:

otherwise there are anumber of threads on the general seller boards, you sometimes have to read them to see where the discussion is going as they start of for private sellers and then go into business accounts (or vice versa).
A general read though is probably best as it might be an idea to actually ask for help , especially on the PS board.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is not really the main thrust of what I am talking about and we could digress onto all kinds of countries agreements on mail many of which surpass the UPU.
but anyway... I am sure none of the aforesaid has gone unnoticed by Royal Mail, and as it is deregulated, they have basically turned their nose up at parcels and said "we don't want it". Meanwhile they are obliged to deliver foreign parcels coming in under such agreements as you mention.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. have they? did I miss the memo?
You seem very interested in the subject.
I have posted many times on this subject and have gone on about how things are and how people wont/wouldnt like what was coming with RM
poster after poster suddenly wakes up to whats going and is suddenly interested.
the horse has bolted on that one. the seeds of privitisation are sown and coming close to harvest0 -
Once a year when prices go up - I have a little rant about it. It's just that doubling of prices last year on airmail and this year on larger parcels is becoming "hard to believe"Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Which shops do you drop them off at?
Im looking into using despatch bay, as far as i can make out there packets are sent as Royal mail tracked, they are collected by parcel force, once you have labeled the packets you need to put them in a box or bag and book the collection which cost £3.500 -

I've just looked at their site too. It looks quite good. Has anyone else used them?
