Will cost me £9.59 via ParcelMonkey / City Link
£8.98 via ipostparcels / UK Mail
Looks like l will no longer be selling that item. In fact looks like l will be closing down, its hard enough to compete with other sellers/retailers let alone these new increases by royal mail.
Looks like l could send this parcel via MyHermes for as little as £3.90, however no doubt at the cost of losing my fast delivery reputation.
Are anyone else considering switching to MyHermes?0 -
Paul I already use myhermes and I am a 5 star seller. The key is find out when the driver collects from your local store and do the drop before that and you'll shave a whole day off the delivery time. I also drop Saturdays which circumvents the worst wait buyers have when ordering Friday evening. From my local store with these things in mind, it's typically 3 days.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Many thanks for that, l will indeed drop into my local shop and find out the times etc. I am considering giving them a go but worried due to their reputation.0 -
This does not seem to affect sending books, which is perhaps something to be grateful for.0

I wouldn't count on that. The depth limit for small packet is 8cms and if you are going on the exemption for a cube the book is going to have to be less than 16cms long or wide. So you are probably OK with normal books, but some of the older books or even bodice rippers in hardback might be a struggle if you wrap them well in bubble wrap.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I ordered mine yesterday via the business centre and was told they will start to send them out from the 14th March- but as you say, last year my local PO didn't even get any for a good month after th eincreases and then they ran out within a few days.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There is a link to the pdf. You're both on the internet.0

I wonder how the post offices will work out if its a small or medium parcel. Will they get little boxes sized so if the parcel goes in the box its okay. Similar to hand-luggage cages at airports.
I expect big queues in my local post office ran by an elderly couple, they find the current system hard to work out, this might cause then to retire.0 -
OK, did some calculations. As an ordinary person in China with no account or mailing license, it will cost you £1.71 to send a 300g Teddy Bear measuring wider than 16cm from China to the UK.
From 1 April 2013, it will cost you as a UK resident to send the same item second class, within the UK £5.20.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0
