I read it to be any box that does not exceed 6 inches on any side. I have bought 6x6x6 boxes as they will be my template for what i can sell before I use MyHermes. I do already have smaller boxes (no sides above 6 inches) that i can carry on using.

Three sizes of boxes I have in stock will now only be suitable for MyHermes as they have at least one side larger than 6 inches. Unfortunately only a few weeks ago I took delivery of new stock of a 7x6x5 box, even though it was not one I used a lot of. I can see my having that stock for years now.

Godness knows how you measure a large squashy item

I'm expecting some sellers to FORCE large squashy items into 6 inch cubes!

Soolin.... best leave them to it then on the FB page.

They will soon be like headless chickens come the begining of April.

I am sure the person with the large toys will soon have words with their PO person, who has given them the wrong info... as lets face it even the people in the PO are still finding out about it.

My local mail centre are lovely, I spend ages in there and they even buy things from me. They are not allowed to print out anything from the Internet and have asked me to print out the PDF of the new prices as they have nothing at all official yet, and people keep asking them.

I'm taking it in tomorrow for them.

If you have a RM business account what happens if you have any problems with a paypal chargeback? When I have had problems with a charge back before I have scanned my COP and that has always been fine and accepted, what paperwork do you have with a business account to show you have posted?

Had fun in the PO yesterday :)

I took in a pile of big squashy parcels - a load of knitting wool that I've been listing on ebay because it will be pretty much unsaleable via RM after Easter, for obvious reasons.

Mentioned to the woman serving me how much more expensive this kind of item will be to post after Easter. She replies "oh no, only about 40p more". I point to the hand-written notice on the wall, which clearly states the new dimensions for small parcels.

Turns out she's the only one in this PO (quite a big town one) who's been trained in the new prices, and she is supposed to have passed her "knowledge" on to the others!

So after she has finished procesing my packages she trots off to get her paperwork from the course she's just been on. We pore over it together. You should have seen her face when the penny dropped :rotfl:

Evidently a few other people had been expressing similar concerns to mine and she had been reassuring them all that it would only be about 40p more!!!!!

Nothing personal, she's a charming woman and all the others working in that particular PO are lovely too, BUT ......

These proposed price changes have the potential to decimate our business due to the size of the products we sell - after all, would you pay £5.65 postage for a £13.99 item that currently has a £2.70 1st class charge (and we get people complaining about post and packing charges now - they clearly don't read the postage label that states how much actual postage costs are!).

There is an e-petition that I stumbled across on Twitter:
    http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/46737

Whether it will do any good I don't know, but the PO staff we use are still trying to get to grips with these changes too!

Well you either live close to me or that is a common misunderstanding with post offices. I posted a few days ago about being told off on a Facebook selling pages for telling people how much the new postage was. Apparently I was scaremongering because at least one person (who sells large squashy baby goods) has been re assured by her post office that it will be no more than 40-50p at most extra.

Since that post a seller of ladies shoes (fakes but hey ho) has also been told that the PDF I posted was misleading and their shoe boxes will continue to be priced at less than £4.
