I asked mine if she'd seen the new prices yet and she hadn't but had been told it was going to make things simpler!

My PO is an Asda franchise, and they have no idea about the impending changes. Fun & games all round after Easter then!!

I asked mine and she said there were no changes to prices!
She said Parcelforce might be retired?!
I have had my tape measure out too and probably 90% of my parcels are in the 'small parcels' category, the exception being posters. I think my mug cubes are ok unless I send more than one.
Need to look into opening a business account - have posted over 2000 parcels in the last year so does that mean I will be eligible from April?

the staff dont get much more(if any) info beyond what is announced to the public

There is a tube exemption as well as a cube exception, so your posters might be Ok.

I doubt there will be fun and games, no more than now. Anyone who can't cope with mail shouldn't be in the business.
There's no doubt the numbers people at RM are taking advantage of their countrywide network to bump up profits. Only serious sellers with time on their hands are going to go down the courier route. Even if many do, same revenue less traffic. It's a win win for all but the public.

Well after lots of research into other couriers with prices etc I am sticking with Royal Mail. They give a good quick reliable service and I am going for less profit but keep my Top Seller status. I may be nuts but I work part-time and also ebay part-time so not about everyday to wait in for a courier. At the moment I drop off my parcels at the local Post Office and they do my parcels throughout the day in quiet periods (I leave them cash and they give me change & reciepts the next day). The small PO I go to rely on ebayers to keep them afloat! I'll review it in 6 months and see how it's going.

Well it's obvious that everyone has different needs and there is no one solution. For me, myhermes is right next door to the post office and I can work with franking and myhermes.

Well sadly they won't be there much longer. An urban myth has grown around ebay, that it's a major part of PO and RM income. True for tiny offices with no currency or vehicle license sales, but the opposite for most.

Yes, it's a tiny Post Office. They used to do everything but now it's mostly parcels/letters. They are elderly and are trying to sell the PO with the village shop so that they can retire. I am trying to support them as I would feel dreadful, if they lost out. I suppose I am soft and should think of my profit over theirs.:(

I do think that there will be chaos with the couriers if they get swamped with parcels on the 2nd April. I will stand the increase for a while until everything settles down. As I say I will review it 6 months down the line when I will have to buy new stock.

That's probably why I get better service at my local PO than at the "main" one in town (which is now in a corner of the Spar shop, having moved from more suitable premises to cut costs).
