Just be aware that if your post office is a bit anal like mine is, the box needs to slide straight through that slot (presuming they get one for parcels now), too much cellotape on a box on the limit and you'll be stung.
What - instead of non anally smashing it through with a hammer?

Sorry if I offended you mcfly, do you work at the post office?

Sorry to disappoint, but there's no offense here. A parcel is either the correct size or it's not. It's hardly anal to charge the right price.
I'm one of the self employed suits you seem to admire. We have a company working with the Post Office to bring poorly run private Post Offices up to scratch.
I fly to London monthly, and am glad to report the pilot - quite anally - insists on landing the plane on the runway instead of the M25. Which really is near enough, but he's a stickler.

Anyone shocked by macfly's revelation there about working for satan? Nope, didn't think so.

Nor should you be. I've mentioned it before.
Obviously makes all my posts on the subject irrelevant as I know what I'm talking about. We don't want that on here do we?
I have zero sympathy for the sellers moaning here. The public has sleep walked into this without a murmer over the last decade. RM and the Post Office are being privatised by stealth. That's fine for all you captains of industry, or sellers of tat.
The vulnerable however will suffer as usual.

macfly, you obviously don't know what an "anal" post office is like. I'm talking about your jiffy bag not going through the slot because it's caught on the sealing flap or an envelope that should go through caught at 45 degrees perpendicular to the board. In any other business trying to make something *not* go through the slot would be considered acting as sharks.

Well my local postmistress has told me she is going to retire as she can't cope with all the changes. :undecided

I asked mine and she said there were no changes to prices!
She said Parcelforce might be retired?!
I have had my tape measure out too and probably 90% of my parcels are in the 'small parcels' category, the exception being posters. I think my mug cubes are ok unless I send more than one.
Need to look into opening a business account - have posted over 2000 parcels in the last year so does that mean I will be eligible from April?

This is some of the complexity this adds for small sellers, sell one item and it's cheaper to send RM, they buy quantity "2" and it has to go by courier. Added complexity, plus the option where buyer chooses the postage type becomes meaningless as sellers will mainly send the cheapest way.

I asked mine if she'd seen the new prices yet and she hadn't but had been told it was going to make things simpler!
