Yes, but I still should be in credit for the £75 credit offer. At least you have the -£7.5 for broadband. I am chatting with them right now. We'll see what they say.

Ah yes, I should have added that right at the very top I have:

Credit carried forward from last bill -£75.00

To be fair to them, the "chat sessions" I had were relatively painless and effective, but you really need to keep an eye on your bill....

Did anybody else get the READ NOW Sky letter today??

They've nearly finished migrating and (finally) acknowledge I opted out

    * Changed mind Welcome offers

    ** Ready to move elsewhere

    *** Cancel

They say they won't switch off without plenty of notice and would help move me on elsewhere

I received the same letter yesterday.

I thought I had received the letter because my 12 months free on O2 is up on the 15th February.

I was originally supposed to switch before Xmas but I asked for the switch to be put back so I didn't have problems over the Xmas period.
I was told I had now been put to the back of the list and the switch would be in April/May.

It looks like they are now going back to those who asked for the date to be put back to now either fix a date or force migration if they don't want to switch.

Time to ring them and determine what offers are available and decide what to do for the future.

Ditto re letter here. I wanted to hold out for as long as possible (see below) and I thought Sky were simply putting the squeeze on so I phoned them up. According to Sky, the offer I had (free b/b) with O2 was ending and this was what the letter was about not a Sky 'threat'. I got offered b/b for a fiver a month and went for it. There was a long explanation that confirmation letters they will send out will refer to a £15 pm charge but the Sky.com account should reveal the net cost. It doesn't yet - no surprise there - but I will be watching like a hawk until it does.

    Interesting

Was the £5 a month for a 12 month contract or just ongoing without a tie in?

The original letter I received from SKY was for £7.50 a month with no tie in.

SKY offered £7.50 a month with £50 credit for a tie in (Last November call).

I'm in exactly the same boat, with a £7.50 letter in hand.

Would the £50 credit go towards your £7.50 BB bill each month, or was it a phone line tie in type thing? Also, was there a 12 month contract required for your offer?

A lot of us have gone for a 12 month contract at £5 per month, with £75 credit (that's BB only).

I telephoned O2 last July and stated that I was leaving because I did not want to go to Sky. O2 then gave me 12 months free broadband to stay with them, which I accepted and is recorded on the notes of the conversation at their end.

This week, out of the blue I have received a bill from Sky for £16.50 for broadband following my transfer to Sky. Following complaints to both O2 and Sky, it turns out that my account was transferred on 6th Jan and they are now billing me £7.50 per month (first bill includes last month and this month, though I don't know how they get that to £16.50).

O2 says they should accept me on my current promotional offer with no tie in - Sky says that the promotional offer is the £7.50 a month with no tie in that I was on before the free broadband offer. They accept that it is on their system that I do not wish to transfer to Sky, but say that because I failed to reply to a letter they supposedly sent 60 days ago (which I did not receive) I am 'deemed to have consented to the switch', but there is no tie in and I am free to leave sky at any time. What a load of cobblers.

After about three hours of phone calls, they say that all deals they are able to offer me are subject to me accepting a one year contract (which I cannot do, even if I wanted to, as I am moving within the next few months and will have to cancel the contract at that point anyway).

The call centre girl even had the cheek to tell me that Sky doesn't operate a complaints procedure, though I have since been told that complaints can be made through the website.

To say I am livid is an understatement.

Obviously I am not going to let this drop, but I just wondered if anyone else has been moved over against their wishes while still in a free broadband deal with O2?

So sky get no money at all from you for the whole 12 months?

Is the BB working OK for you?
