No, I am now definitely taking hits and slowdowns on my speed. Nothing like it prior to this issue.

If it's not due to the Sky takeover it's coincidence - which I fully accept can happen. But it's damn curious it should happen now - particularly as there were dire warnings that this would happen from some quarters.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Just left O2, glad I did. The last online chat I had with one of their call centre staff was a joke.

Same here, I had a nightmare of a call with a guy called Adam at 02, well actually you think your speaking to 02 but its all sky call centre staff and he was also an absolute joke, very pushy, difficult and uncoperative. I told him i wanted to leave and wanted my MAC code, he did all his hard sell, politely refused and told him my reasons for leaving, i felt like banging my head against a brick wall and we went round and round in circles, basically he wouldnt cancel it for me and when asked to speak to a supervisor he said he didnt have one. I had to hang up on him and speak to someone else, got a very helpful chap called Nick who did what I asked. Sky`s customer service is terrible and they make it an absolute nightmare to leave (ive had this in the past) hence my current reasons for not wanting to be with them.

If you are going to cancel your 02 broadband then beware because it is not 02 staff and they make it as difficult as possible for you.

Virgin now have all my business, broadband + landline and ive just bought the £15 VIP sim giving unlimited calls, text and mobile data.
Relieved to now have to have nothing to do with SKY and happy as have reduced my costs in the process. Im guessing 02 will be loosing a lot more customers than those that just have broadband and landline due to the sky merger

They gave me two early termination charges, I know the ball park figure but I wanted them to confirm. Both figures were wildly inaccurate, to the point I couldn't type through all the facepalm-ing I was doing!

Several apologies later, I finally got the right figure from them... AFTER I had explained how they should be working it out.
  • Sounds about right for sky, any chance to rip you off before you leave them

Only if you are outside of a minimum period contract (ie you are on a "rolling monthly" deal), otherwise sky have taken over the contract and have the right to levy early termination fees in the same way o2 would have done.
