what does it cost to buy out your contract on average? think I'll see what happens but would like a figure in mind as if I need to move.

Although it says you can still keep your o2 email address it is limited to a maximum mailbox size of 20Mb !!

That's no use to anyone .... after you receive half a dozen emails it'll be full up !

I think that's a good reason to never take your broadband providers e-mail address.

It would seem not, £26 to leave.

Did you ask for a MAC? Worth a try.

They seem keen to keep customers! (You can always change your mind if they don't make a too good to be true retention offer)

Perhaps if enough people leave, O2 won't be such an attractive purchase for Sky.

When I phoned up for my MAC yesterday, O2 cancellation person said they'd had a lot of calls!!

That's what I think Alan, also worried about staying even if it's free as Sky won't have to honor the offer and charge whatever they like if the product doesn't exist.

I asked them (o2) about this, and they said that the 12 months free would be honoured.

If Sky want to change any ts + cs to our detriment then we will be able to quit anyway.

What have you all got to lose by giving Sky a go? Sky can't change your current deal for 12 months. At the end of 12 months if you are not happy then move (for free).

I moved to Sky several years ago (first to ADSL and last year to FTTC) and I have been very happy with their service.

No, I don't work for Sky before anyone asks!

jaybeetoo - it's a Murdoch issue for me. Don't want to give him a penny of my hard earned cash.

    Good reason!

But if you get the free year + £50 mobile credit they are dishing out now you get some revenge on Murdoch and he's "paying" for the pleasure of having you till next March when you can move on!
