Sky buyout of O2 Broadband

It's a chicken or egg situation though: There would be no Sky TV without football. If Murdoch relied on movies and drama, SKY would have gone bust in no time.
Fine by me;) Then BBC could earn their licence fee!!
I'm tied to o2 until September but I might find out what the penalty for leaving before then is.
They're not going to honor our mobile customer discount so I think I've been
mis-sold as this was a big factor when taking on the phone contract.0 -

The correct answer is "yes"!
This is from the horse's mouth:
http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/broadbandchanges
or the more correct answer if he joins Plusnet probably not:
When your service moves to Sky you'll still to be able to use your o2.co.uk email address0 -
Although it says you can still keep your o2 email address it is limited to a maximum mailbox size of 20Mb !!
That's no use to anyone .... after you receive half a dozen emails it'll be full up !0 -
I get my O2 broadband via the employee Friends&Family deal, on the Pro package with a static IP address. My line rental is with BT.
My guess is that Sky won't honour the F&F discount, and I'm unlikely to keep my static IP address.
I have heard of quite a few people ringing up to get their MAC code ( which you can't use for 7 days unless you're happy to pay the £15 'early termination fine' ), and being offered free broadband for 12 months to stay ... although the O2 call centre people did admit that Sky might not honour that offer.0 -

There's more.
They will also give you a £50 credit on your o2 mobile on top of 12 months free. Short term offer for the £50 credit - they say it ends in 7 days.0 -

Won't they still will give you a free year to stay (+ £50 phone credit) even though you are tied?0 -
It would seem not, £26 to leave.0
