I think that you were told, 30 days after the happiness guarantee.
    Calm down. :)

I think I know what i was told, the same as others were, 30 days after re-signing back up with them on the new (free)12 month contract.
Then i was told 14 days after the 30 day happiness.
Now i have been told yet another 30 days

Because I'm having to chase them at every step as they aren't giving the credit when they originally said they would. Others had theirs 30 days after re-signing up.Not 2 1/2 months later

So my second phonecall to o2 resulted in the offer of 12 months free on the Legacy package.

The only issue now is that Sky offered us broadband, line rental and evening and weekend calls for £7.50....so will be moving anyway.

Also the o2 team will still be handling calls tomorrow....its just the merger should be complete as of tomorrow. The guy I last spoke too made it sound like as of 1st May...you would have to talk to Sky!

The OFT doesn't rule on the merger until May 15th so there is no way the merger will be complete today.

although a source close to the proceedings confirmed that there’s no dependency on having OFT approval ahead of completing the transaction.

I finally got round to ringing up yesterday (my contract's up on Friday). Got offered 12 months free broadband immediately. Didn't get offered any credit on my mobile. Mentioned that I could get cheaper mobile elsewhere and they said the broadband offer wasn't dependant on me having an O2 mobile. So I'm sticking with O2/Sky for my broadband for the next year and I'll change to GiffGaff for my mobile I think. Should save me about £80 over a year anyway so not much difference than if they had offered me £100.

Um, just got an email from O2 confirming the move is going ahead.... so maybe they are assuming OFT will approve.

    Me too here's email
O2 Home Broadband and Home Phone, and Sky. The latest.
Back in February, we announced our decision to sell our Home Broadband and Home Phone business to Sky.
That sale has now gone through. Which means your home broadband and home phone are now officially with Sky. I'd like to explain what'll happen next and draw your attention to the legal information at the bottom of this email.
    Business as usual
You won't notice any changes straightaway. You can still use My O2 to access your bill, and it's the same number to call should you need a hand with your broadband or home phone. You'll receive a separate email about your payments. And remember, your O2 mobile isn't affected by the sale in any way.
You'll be hearing from Sky soon
In the next day or so, you'll get a welcome from Sky. It'll explain how they'll be transferring everyone's broadband and home phone services over to their network, starting this autumn. But if you have any questions before then, you'll find the latest information here.
As before, it's only your broadband and home phone that's moving to Sky. Not your mobile. That's still with us. So there's just one last thing I'd like to say. We wish you - and your broadband and home phone - all the very best.
    Yours sincerely,

Why do they have to mess with things, I've been happy with O2 now I have to wait until my current contract runs out on oct. to change from sky,but who do you go to ? They all seem as bad as each other.
