Not too concerned. If they give me grief, I'll make them pay all the more.

Just called o2 to do a deal. Currently on legacy package. They offered 12 months free broadband with line rental/evening and weekend calls for £13 a month.

They said from Tuesday...Sky will deal with customers...so they may have different deals. Not sure I fancy waiting to see though.

Interested to hear what is offered from Tuesday. Glad that I called in good time.

Can anyone clarify if Xbox Live is classed as P2P according to o2 traffic shaping rules? Only thing that puts me off upgrading from legacy if true.

Why would you update from the legacy package when you can have it free for 12 months plus M&S vouchers or credit on your mobile account?

There are no deals on the legacy package they say. I think best they could offer was 3 months half price or something stupid.

To take a phoneline they need to upgrade us from legacy. I understand it isn't ideal...but knowing in 12 months it'll be with Sky anyway...it doesn't seem to matter as much now.

That's a big change from a couple of weeks ago.

That was the retentions team! I think the issue is is that we had 6 months free previously and still have 6 months contract left...therefore there are no deals for us. However if we move packages...then they can offer a better deal.

I just tried, got a woman, and was told I'm still in contract (legacy) so no deal and I'll have to pay to leave. I mentioned that my son, who renewed at around the same time as me had be offered 12 months free, but she said she couldn't comment, as she had no access to his account and repeated what she said about paying up.

As the above, I took 6 months free, but my son had 12 months half price, so wonder if this has some bearing.

I'll try again later, especially as Sky taking over retentions was mentioned above.
