unfortunately, i just moved my home phone to o2 in jan this year and signed up for another 12 months on the broadband at the same time. So, just off the phone, told the guy how unhappy i was with sky etc etc ( which is true ) and got my broadband free for 12 months but only after speaking to retentions, the billing people will tell you nothing can be done.

but the guy i spoke to says nothing can be done about a rebate on the home phoneline, he could have done something on my mobile line but only if it was in my name.

he sounded pretty cheesed off about the sky deal as well and said quite a few had complained about moving to sky and particularly their customer service..

I'm a week away from my move to BT now. O2 has been abysmal again over the last 24 hours. Frequent outages, slow speeds. Can't wait to go now.
  • Got 12 months free broadband and £200 mobile credit when I called back last night. :j

Just wanted to thank everyone for this thread as I wouldn't have called up in the first place!

And also not to give up if you're refused the first time.

Was going to post my great deal only to find that I'm 2 weeks and 24 pages too late :) I wasn't offered any mobile credit, but my O2 mobile is a work phone anyway, so not in my name.

I did get a new router too though as my old router has a dodgy power socket, which turns the router off if you nudge or move the router or power lead.

Happy to save £114 over the next 12 months all the same :)
  • just had a letter from BE saying the the take over is now complete, and migration will start before then end is out.

So for those who have accepted the free year of BB , are you sure should any circumstances change (or not) , before the 12 months is up , you are at liberty to cancel, and move to another ISP without penalty?

According to Greg who gave me this offer this morning the answer is yes, leave within the free year and there is no charge, only concern is nothing in writing, if you needed to prove it one way or the other......

Just got offered and accepted the 12 months free o2 broadband, however the confirmation email from o2 does not say "free for 12 months", just says new 12 month contract, is that normal??

Yes that's what I got too.
Also been to my account and it says £14.50 per month , no mention of free for 12 months??

    It should eventually say;

    Full monthly charge* £ 14.50

Monthly charge including offers* £ 0.00

So its all done and we are now Sky customers. Glad I got my MAC last week as now I can move away. Don't fancy trying to find out what Sky customer service is like.

Yes they can as you have to en buy out of the deal at the full price buy out rate they set.

I would like so see what contract they are issuing with this deal and let's get it posted on here so people can comb over it and spot any potential issues.

I wish I could believe its loyal customers they want but all these paying you to stay deals are really fishy

Not entirely sure why if you're leaving ??
