Oh well that was easy, I did the Web Chat on O2 and am being sent a confirmation email of the 12 months free broadband. Nice one!

Just did the same and received e mail confirmation already.

In terms of termination slightly different interpretation to O2 retentions who told me cancel in the 12 months free and there will be no charge.

Just been told in web chat, no that is wrong you will be charged a termination fee based on the period left and full price of £14.50 per month.

I think it depends on how long you have been with them. I was offered without too much trying 12 months free broadband. Fair play to anyone who got £200 as well!

To stay on the old legacy package you need to ring up and via the press button menu go to the, thinking of leaving option and "ask for mac code " this is via retentions, this is what I did as i'm on that package, ended up staying on that package and 12 months free.....

Going through webchat is not the way to go as they are just the normal sales team by another name. As above go through to retentions and mention you are looking at leaving but what offers do you currently have to get me to re-sign for another 12 months. Mention what myself and others have been offered and get them to confirm you will stay on your existing package if that is what you want.

I cant say im leaving because im in a contract till August, I got 6 months free last August only just started paying them, is it not worth going on the all rounder?

You will still be offered the 12 months free regardless, I have, and so have many others on here. I still had 4 months to run from my previous half price deal.
Just ask to remain on the legacy tariff, if that is what you are already on.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
