Yes but it depends on what Sky do and how they do it.

I guess they could leave everyone as they are until its time to renew contracts - then start offering new ones on their network. Otherwise they may just want to move customers over to their network - which makes the most management and cost sense for Sky.

Leaving isn't going to be that simple I fear.

BE (O2 little sister) have stated they will be migrating onto the sky newtork and as sky dont offer static, and speeds can differ because of traffic flow congestion, speeds may not be met either (so a current pic of your router dsl speeds would be really handy to prove the difference hint hint).

Is that now in writing then? That confirms why the converged core was cancelled. If so then that is not good news as Sky are not known for the best network or speed provision.

o2/BE don't guarantee speeds, so proving the difference even if sky is slower in future won't make any difference.

I thought they were moving everyone over to Sky fibre?

I bet they cant in some areas. I think they are moving people on to the Sky fibre back bone that they have installed.

You won't get fibre unless you pay the extra, though no doubt it will be heavily discounted and promoted by Sky at the time of switchover.

I just signed up for o2 broadband today and got the £200 mobile credit. The guy I spoke to explained that they have a certain amount of promotion budget to sue each year but with the sale to Sky only have limited time to use it so are basically blowing the lot. Seems to make sense to me if, as people have mentioned already, they need to have a customer base of a certain size.

Didn't get 12 months free on top but more than happy to pay an effective price of £2.50 a month for a year after BT had moved our monthly cost up to almost £45

£200?... seriously lol. The credit they were offering was £100 last week but that offer has finished.

Didn't believe it at first but I have got 12 months free broadband and £200 mobile credit earlier tonight. Here's hoping the next 12 months pan out ok.

Just got offered and accepted the 12 months free o2 broadband, however the confirmation email from o2 does not say "free for 12 months", just says new 12 month contract, is that normal??

Also been to my account and it says £14.50 per month , no mention of free for 12 months??
