I have just rung up and the person I spoke to was called Chris and said I wanted to leave, but he did'nt offer me anything. He basically said that it will take between 12-18 months before anything happens, and that everything will stay the same until then. I asked if they could offer me any deal for staying and he mentioned that I had a new deal in January. I just had to accept what he said as there was'nt really any further i could go with it.

Same thing happend to me. I got the MAC and jiffy bag. I won't be using it, At least I tried.. lol

I think if I had been out of my contract he would have given me the free offer, but he just kept going on about me having a new deal in January, so as i said i just had to leave it in the end. At least I am not paying the full price.

    Hi

Just did a speed test. My Be results are d/l 10.56 M/bs, up/l 0.949 Mb/s. Locally the only faster speeds are BT 13.89 Mb and Plusnet 16.51 Mb. I might check out Plusnet.

I get around 7 at the moment with O2, but check this out for BT. Apparently we have some super duper fibre fttb :) I won't be checking it out just yet though as I have taken the O2, 40 pieces of silver.

You were unlucky to encounter Chris, try again tomorrow and you might be more successful with Margaret or Glen.
Ring every day until you get what you want - it worked for me

  • Hi, On BT home phone. O2 Broadband. O2 Broandband has been out of contract for awhile, been paying 13 quid a month. Phoned and requested MAC code saying it was due to Sky(couldn't care less really), person at O2 immediately suggested having the broadband free for 12 months. Said this would be honoured even if Sky takeover by that time - plus there's no cancellation fee as there's no monthly cost.

Glad I stumbled across this thread now!

I'm still waiting to see this reflected in the My O2 website under the bills section, do other people see 0.00 listed?

The bit about the cancellation fee is what they told me but some on here dispute it.

Switched over the BT Infinity today. So far so good with speeds about 7 times faster down and 17 times faster up than on o2 for only a couple of quid extra a month.
