The Sky customer rep won't know the answer anymore than we do. They will just give you what is expected now of a new customer.
My parents have Sky BB with a BT line as they have had that since Sky started offering free BB. It then became £5pm as they didn't want Sky Talk so it is perfectly possible to have Sky BB with a BT line.
Only time will tell what actually happens.0 -

But if they say bb can only be bought with their phone line, then bb does change as a new condition is being imposed.0 -

No. I had Virgin cable BB before and moved to O2.0 -
Your right that we shall have to wait and see what does happen. I know that past take overs of BB customers don't tend to paint a rosy picture.
I have just been looking in my local area at the different speed tests that people have done with the providers. It tells a real picture when all the people near me are on much slower speeds than me on o2. I think looking at that its clear that Plusnet or BT are where I am going to move to.
I would advise that everyone does the same and looks at the Sky comparable speed for their local area so you know what to expect if you stay.0 -

Run a speed test and then wack in your post code. It will compare yours to others locally and show you what speeds have been recorded.0 -
I checked the broadband speeds a few weeks ago and again when i saw your post and sky are faster than my o2.
Hopefully this will be right enough and i will have faster internet.
Only ADSL in my area and nothing cheaper than free:)0 -
That's very true and if its quicker then you may as well have free and switch.
Clearly it must depend area by area.0 -
I was told that if you leave before the end of the 12 month free, it reverts to standard and you are charged for the remainderDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
