Has the move already started ? I just received this email from O2.

Nope. That email's about the network reorganisation they announced about a year ago. I guess that's them getting round to it now.

So if they have only just started getting round to this then that is going to surly slow down any Sky move? Don't Sky want the upgrade to the network completing for any deal to take place? Looking at the dates on that site it is going to be late this year before it is all done, assuming that it all goes to time scale.

What is annoying about this deal is how no one is saying if it will remain as it is until you come out of contract? What Sky will do with the non sky phone line customers? Are they going to just kick you off and say they dont provide a service - but then they would be breaking the contract.

so glad i moved away from O2 broadband whan i did.

i hate sky as a brand with a passion. they annoy me with their aggressive advertising campaigns.

and they seem to be throwing far too much money at pointless drama's and effectively buying the british acting talent who are selling temselves out!

even their latest tv advert shows. john lindsey should hold his head in shame they way he's sold himself out advertising sky that way!

But Idiot abroad has been great hasn't it :)

Just got that very deal. I am out of contract with O2 however. I've gotten 12 months free Broadband under the same T&C's as my O2 contract and £100 credited to my mobile contract. The lady did ask why I wanted to move and I said the reason was that I'm not a Sky customer yet and didn't want to exclude myself from any new customer offers should I want to get a TV package in future.

Gonna now take frequent speed tests until the changeover date, and if the service changes in any way I should then be able to use this as proof to cancel the contract early should I want to.

I can't see why they won't be keen to keep me in August with a similar deal but I'd love to know if anyone IN contract has had this offer.

I have emailed Sky and asked this specific question -no answer as yet.
However, if they change the t&c's then I'll be free to leave anyway so I've not got anything to lose.

If you read the whole thread, :), you'll see that myself and others have received this deal.
I'm paygo, so didn't get the credit to my phone account, but I did get 12mths All Rounder free.
I had only negotiated a new deal at the beginning of the year, so only just started a new contract.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • This is dreadful news, MSE is busy chatting about this compared to other sources on the net. I have been looking around at other providers and deals. With $ky taking over I fear the worse.

I joined o2 at the starts and I am still on the legacy package and only paying £9 per month as I have a o2 mobile. I fear this will end soon as Murdoch T&C team start shredding o2s T&Cs.

I am going to watch very close and monitor my speed and $ky move in. I want to jump ship as I do not want to give my earnings to Murdochs.

Lets see what happens I guess.

I wasn't going to re-read the whole thread.

You will be my 'friend' when I call back tomorrow to say that absolutely 100% 'they' were in contract (she said no chance) and to ask why I am not being offered the same deal?

Heard they pulled the mobile discount as from 1.00pm today.

(You can get a £50 M+S voucher, but may have to give up your old package.........)
