Margaret, who was very helpful & apologetic that I was seemingly misled yesterday (being told NO deal is being offered to anyone IN contract) said that as of 1pm yesterday the £100 thing was unavailable. No reason to disbelieve her as it tallied with what I'd read online.

I've been re-contracted in for a year but at zero cost I really can't grumble can I?

Got my letter about the takeover this morning, not that bothered to be honest as i considered moving to Sky a few months back......but am wondering if I should jump ship now and avail of Sky's introductory offers in case they just keep me on my current tariff when they do take over.

Wrong, gmail will fetch it for you automatically at about that frequency.

Even if you're not logged in, no computer open, etc
Rather than setting up Gmail to periodically pull mail from the Yahoo account, it would surely make more sense to set up the Yahoo account to automatically forward all mail to the Gmail account?

When will the £100 be credited and is there a way of checking it has been added, other than waiting for your next bill??

Give it a few days then check on my o2.

Look at your mobile account. There is a section for charges, credits since your last bill.

The £100 is shown as a £83.30 credit (ie ex vat)

They have replaced the phone credit with a £50 m+s voucher.

A friend phoned this evening and got it along with the free year. She had 9 months of her contract remaining and is staying on her standard legacy package.

    Hi Chambta

First time when you didn't get the offer, did you receive your MAC code? if so what did you tell them this time to get the deal.

    thanks

  • Does anyone know what will happen to those on legacy packages, with regard to throttling/speeds?

    From the o2 website:

    http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/broadbandchanges

What can I expect to get from Sky?

Sky focuses on offering totally unlimited broadband, including unlimited fibre services. All of which you can enjoy with or without Sky TV. Sky will be in touch with more details on what's available to you before your service moves over.
  • I've just spoken to someone at O2 who confirmed that Sky do not traffic manage on their service.
Prices may go up if Sky do not honour O2's prices however.
Additionally, I would not need to have a Sky landline.
I am in contract at the moment and I am reluctant to sign up for a new contract for 12 months despite the offer as I would rather be free to leave and go elsewhere should my service go downhill. Has anyone else decided to turn the offer down?

The "offer" is really a "bribe". (How else would you describe it - pay nothing for a year (then leave if you want) and accept £100 off your phone bill isn't the normal way to run a business!)

Everyone has their price! And it is very MSE!
