  • Agreed Quentin.

Although being in contract the "bribe" isn't available to me apparently.

I'll wait till my contract ends and then shop around.

    .
Prices may go up if Sky do not honour O2's prices however.

The O2 t&c's will still stand though and they state that they can make one price rise of 10% within a 12 month period.

So that's either 10% of £0 or 10% of the original price £1.75.

If they change any contract terms as agreed with O2, you can leave anyway.

    Are you sure?

I've missed that, and it doesn't sound right.

... buy you'd have to check your gmail every 20 minutes 24x7 in order to keep emptying your O2 box ... all it takes is for someone to send you a couple of emails with some pics or documents attached and your O2 box will be full, and everyone else trying to email you will get bounces ... 20Mb isn't very much ..... 4 hi-res photos will probably fill it !

Ah right, hadn't considered that. I'll just have to leave gmail running on my media centre PC then I suppose!

    Cheers.

Wrong, gmail will fetch it for you automatically at about that frequency.

Even if you're not logged in, no computer open, etc

Nice one, thought that was the case as when I use it on my phone it always seems to have all of my mails.

Yes, that's what I was told when I asked is Sky could hike the price.

Was told same applies to BB

The "offer" is really a "bribe". (How else would you describe it - pay nothing for a year (then leave if you want) and accept £100 off your phone bill isn't the normal way to run a business!)

Everyone has their price! And it is very MSE!

Having just made another call I've been offered 12 month free - apparently additional offers were a limited thing and they are no longer offering these (credit/vouchers) etc.

Not bad - saved about £100.

That link is to the 02 mobile price info.

I have had a quick look at the bb conditions which has no mention of any 10% rise being enforceable.

They are allowed to increase by RPI. Any more and we can cancel without penalty.

Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.
We expect the deal to be finalised soon and in the meantime nothing will change, of whom you are currently around half a million.
will continue to get exactly the same home broadband and phone service as they do now. We won?t be moving your services until later this year and you will get plenty of notice when it?s time to be switched over to Sky.
I do apologise the above statement is all we have at present along with the previous email attachment below.

This is the reply received from Sky, fabulous grammar and it's really helpful isn't it?? lol
  • My contract with O2 BB was coming to an end, rang retentions and asked them if they have any deals on offer, I was offered straight away 12 months free BB.

Very happy :j, accepted the offer.
Thanks all for posting about the one year free offer. :T
