Sky buyout of O2 Broadband

After hearing about the Sky deal with o2. I decided to ask for my MAC code today, as I have my line rental with Primus (New call telecom) and I use 18185 overide for daytime calls. Sky I know do not support this service, so was going to get broadband with Primus as well. But as others have posted, I was offered 12 months free broadband! Result. Yes it is a new contract but it was confirmed that when Sky takes over I can keep my primus line and use 18185. So another 12 months o2 broadband for free......0

How on earth could the current employees of O2 be able to predict the future, especially as the buyout by Sky has still to be finalised.
Sky could if they wanted simply close the service down. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I dont care if they do, getting free year out of themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Don't Sky want the upgrade to the network completing for any deal to take place? Looking at the dates on that site it is going to be late this year before it is all done, assuming that it all goes to time scale.
Nope, Sky aren't buying O2/Be's network, just the customers. O2 will be keeping the network for 4G backhaul, I think. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Woman told me today o2 staff are training the sky ones on their systems, and that the hardware connections at the exchange will still be o2Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. Don't be so sure. It appears that the converged core has been abandoned which surly points to the fact that customers are going to be moved over to Sky as soon as possible.
It also appears that you will have to have a Sky landline to get the broadband product and who knows how Sky will hide this when trying to force people to move their phone line over.
I get the feeling that Sky have said one thing at the start of this deal and now want to do something totally different. I think people should start to get reday for the news we will be force over to Sky's network.0 -
Give it a few days then check on my o2.
Look at your mobile account. There is a section for charges, credits since your last bill.
The £100 is shown as a £83.30 credit (ie ex vat)
Can anybody see the £100 Pay monthly mobile credit showing yet?The "offer" is really a "bribe". (How else would you describe it - pay nothing for a year (then leave if you want) and accept £100 off your phone bill isn't the normal way to run a business!)
Everyone has their price! And it is very MSE!
o2 have been very generous with mobile phone credits, free/half price periods, free vouchers etc. Don't know if they ever expected a sustainable customer base or were aiming to sell off, anyway at one point.
The sell-off letter came today. (says the transfer to Sky will be later this year)

Whilst sky can do more or less what they want regarding changes to the broadband provision, (as could o2), they cannot force anyone to have their landline!
If they only want customers prepared to take their landline, then they will have to use the terms of the existing contract to get rid of all the rest who don't want their landline. (The conditions allow them to give us 7 days notice if they are "no longer able to provide the service", which may be the case if they will only supply customers on their full LLU service - but we need to wait and see)
(We do need to have an alternative in mind to move to, if staying with sky isn't going to be for the long term, but just whilst it's free)0 -

Yes. See #330
(But it shows as £83.30, not £100)0
