  • Yikes! First time to see this and read anything about a Sky takeover. What's more, my current contract ends today...perhaps it's all a sign!

So, what should I be doing here? I'm currently on the home broadband (legacy) 8mb, unlimited £14.50pm (£9.50pm after o2 top-up).

Shall I just stay out of contract, and see how things go for the mean time?

Your contract hasn't ended, your minimum term has. You are now on 30 days minimum term.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    @Gardner1
Are you saying that you got a £100 credit to A PAYG phone? I was told this wasn't possible.

Has the move already started ?
Given that it still needs to be approved by the regulator, that would seem extremely unlikely.

Customers will be migrated onto Sky's LLU network. Infrastructure is retained by O2.
Well that makes my mind up for me. Sky will simply push more people onto an already overcrowded system.

Did you get the MAC? If you already asked for the MAC and they sent it to you, what will you tell them then.

I used the MAC code as a stick to beat them with but they BEAT me harder with it. Since I got the MAC the stick is gone..

Well its up to you but if I was you I would call retentions and get the 12 months free and £100 credit.

My call didn't go to plan. It turns out I'm in contract until August and she said with that being the case they weren't going to offer me anything despite mentioning a 'friend' who'd be offered the year free & £100 credit on my phone bill. I asked for my Mac code but I won't be using it, I wondered if asking may trigger an offer but clearly not!

Has anyone in contract been offered the deal above or did I imagine reading that?

Just got that very deal. I am out of contract with O2 however. I've gotten 12 months free Broadband under the same T&C's as my O2 contract and £100 credited to my mobile contract. The lady did ask why I wanted to move and I said the reason was that I'm not a Sky customer yet and didn't want to exclude myself from any new customer offers should I want to get a TV package in future.

Gonna now take frequent speed tests until the changeover date, and if the service changes in any way I should then be able to use this as proof to cancel the contract early should I want to.

so glad i moved away from O2 broadband whan i did.

i hate sky as a brand with a passion. they annoy me with their aggressive advertising campaigns.

and they seem to be throwing far too much money at pointless drama's and effectively buying the british acting talent who are selling temselves out!

even their latest tv advert shows. john lindsey should hold his head in shame they way he's sold himself out advertising sky that way!
