Sky BB does (or at least did) not require you to have Sky Talk.
I had Sky BB over a BT phone line for ages.
I eventually chose to move to Sky Talk too, which was cheaper and had better inclusions that BT's.
You do (or at least did) have to have Sky TV though.
The above may have changed, of course.

You do now-try checking the order page. It adds Sky Talk and line rental to any LLU broadband order.
You have not needed a Sky TV contract to have the other services for more than a couple of years now.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I hadn't realised that this offer was being made to those still in minimum term.
Can I ask how many months you still had to run (I'm in contract until July for broadband, out of contract on the phone)?

I've just renegotiated my deal which I renewed in December 2012. Instead of being on 6 months free and 6 months half price, I'm now on 12 months free. Just had the email confirming it - staying on old legacy Standard package.

No mention was made of the free £50 credit to mobile but as I said earlier it's not my mobile but a friend's.

We just renegotiated our deal with o2, the best offer we could get was a reduction from £20 p/m for home phone line rental and broadband to £10.50 p/m for the next year,. Happy with that, why let Sky get our custom for free. No offer of a mobile credit but then i am on the sim only contract with o2 so perhaps that's why.

You maybe should have asked rather than await an "offer".

I didn't threaten to leave as my contract is still valid for a while yet and cant get any cheaper than £10 p/m anywhere else anyway.

I think they do. The last time I spoke to their customer service to enquire about fiber, I was told I need to take up sky phone as well.

I'm on Sky unlimited yet still use BT phone line rental, Sky phone is not line rental!
There are four distinct packages, TV, BB, Phone and line rental. Obviously the more of them you take the better value it becomes and

Just got another friend to phone who is on O2 mobile as well. She had just renewed last month with the 6 months free offer.

She was offered free BB for a year. She asked about the £50 mobile credit but was told it wasn't for Pay as you go.

I didn't ask. It was offered.
