What's in it for them to offer the free broadband and credits to phone accounts? Do they need to deliver a certain number of customers for Sky to pay the agreed price?

I pay £6.50pm for the all-rounder package (I think that's what it is) with my fiver off and I'm either out of contract or just about to be.

Will they offer me something if I call?

Sky pay a further £20million at a later date once the customers have transferred.... Wonder if this is for a certain amount

That's what I pay, I got free bb for a year and £100 credit on the phone.
  • I hope every single O2/BE customer leaves before sky takes over so they have waisted their money.

Well said nogginthe nog and I totally agree with you. I was reading the write up in the Telegraph about it (not that im a reader, i work for an airline and a customer left one on the seat).

Murdoch is expecting to overtake Virgin in the broadband market and is expecting to nab 500.000 of the 02 customers. I really dont think that that will happen. I for one will definately not be having anything to do with sky as I cant stand them. Their customer service is shocking and I dont want to give that man any of my money, it goes against my morals.

Lets hope that there are lots more customers who think like us, I have my mobile, broadband and landline with 02 and im gutted this is happening. Their customer service in my opinion is fantastic and ive always been extremely happy with them. My contract is up with 02 in early july and I will be switching to Virgin!
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it murdoch!!!!

I hope you all dont live to regret going from 02 to Sky. Murdoch is a dirty man and plays by his own rules, I hope your deals work out and dont come back to haunt you.

My options are limited as I can't move until November anyway.
We can't get Virgin as there's no cable where we live, BT Infinity not available either and standard bb expensive. Won't touch TalkTalk or Orange.
So, I move in November or take free bb and £100 credit until next March
    and then leave.

I dont know if you realise but you can get broadband and landline rental with virgin even if you dont have the cable for the TV.
They have a package for broadband via the landline. Ive just been checking out my options as Im in a newbuild and we dont have the underground cable for the fibre optic.
Have a look on their website its quite easy to navigate :)

I'll be on the blower to them Monday to get the same.

    Fingers crossed!

How does the £100 credit work? Do I just not pay a bill for a 4 and a bit months in my case, or is the discount applied across the remaining term of your contract (if in one as I am)?

Trolley Dolley - we tried Virgin before as my son worked there as a student and could have got us a fabulous deal but they can't supply us.

Chambta - They'll just apply it to you account so if you pay £25 per month you'll get 4 free months.

Just can't afford to cut my nose off as they say.

    Yes they do.

Really? Care to give links which says Sky offer Static ip address and/or fastpath profile? Happy to be proved wrong
